A sincere thank you to Wayne State University and Professor Chapman of the Graduate School of Social Work, for inviting me again to serve as Guest Lecturer to their soon to be May 2020 graduate class! My lecture “Grief and Loss in the Criminal Justice System- from the Criminal Defense perspective” sought to give an intellectual and practical,real life insight into how grief and loss affect the accused-from arrest to arraignment, to conviction to incarceration and sometimes even in acquittal. In my practice and opinion I believe there is an immediate need for more Social Workers for the utilization and benefit of the accused!
