imagineee bruce and clark hosting a ball shortly after their marriage and for once alfred and clarks parents arent shuttling them aroud the room to meet people and fill their dance cards. Rather, society mothers are coming up to congratulate them - bruce is trying to drop subtle hints that clark is actually still available, take him, please - but for the most part bruce finally gets to be the wallflower he always wanted to be, which is a huge relief. Until clark sweeps him onto the dance floor for a reel, ("the hosts cannot avoid the floor altogether, dearest") and hes a natural, bruce had to work really hard to learn how to dance as well as he does but clark can match him and then some, which is a pleasant break from other young ladies and gentlemen in the ton stepping on his feet or swaying out of rhythm or forgetting the direction theyre supposed to walk. all in all, a pleasant evening, probably the first of these ridiculous parties bruce actually enjoyed
Imagine Bruce doing his best to intentionally sabotage the waltz at first. He only enjoys dancing with his children, mama, and fathers. This song is too tender and romantic.
But Clark quickly catches on to what this cunning little bastard's doing and decides to keep Bruce off his feet entirely. Just throwing him around, hovering him effortlessly, and Bruce shrieks. He's mortified, of course, but he starts actually having fun. Clark wouldn't drop him. He's actually not to keen to let him go
