Honestly, with this new wave of Marvel that we’re getting, I am loving seeing the weird/uncommon ships. That’s like the whole point of shipping in a fandom, they’re not really going to happen (I hate to say it, really). You scrap together any small amount of evidence for your out of pocket ship, like .5 seconds of a clip of your ship making eye contact. “OH MY GOD THEYRE IN LOVE, DID YOU SEE HOW THEY LOOK AT EACH OTHER???!!??” And then like, 50 other people are like “YES!!! THEY ARE SO MEANT FOR EACH OTHER!!!!!!!” It’s such a great thing to see :)

In New Recruits, two minutes in, the set changes.

The Nat Hiken philosophy — “They came, they saw, they laughed. Leave it alone.” — belies the practicalities of 1950s sitcom production. Whilst the first season episodes were each filmed in around an hour, they always worked on, shooting close-ups and sometimes redoing whole scenes.

This example of a reshoot gives an insight into Bilko’s protracted gestation.

New Recruits. Behind Ernie’s door: Toni’s Barber Shop.

Hair. The inserted footage in first-made New Recruits was filmed at the same time as eighteenth Hair. See Countdown to Bilko for some context. (Starring the anonymous grey suits; who judged it perfectly, when best to strike, at the cold black heart of the Milton Berle dragon).

War Games. Possibly too similar to New Recruits; certainly, they held it back, resulting in it being broadcast almost a year after being filmed.
