she exists in many forms. Whilst originally formulated as a simple genderbend many years ago, he has become something of an enigma in my mind.
Technically, there are three versions of this character!
a “true” npc found within one of the lower levels of the niceland apartment complex. the idea that not all characters easily adjust to the idea of living inside of a video game has always been really interesting to me…. Feasibly any character could wind up having less awareness of the nature of their existence, but due to the sheer quantity of NPCs, in-universe stereotypes, and ableism, alt!gene is considered one such character, and isn’t really treated like a person. This causes them to develop an unhealthy fixation on becoming just like Gene: The Most Person In Niceland! and steal his job. I consider this iteration to be “canon”!
Alt!Gene Prime (With Friends), on the other hand, is the AU equivalent of loading a minecraft world you’ve had laying around for years. Basically: everyone is a feminine iteration of themself, alt!gene and gene swap roles, ralph is on better terms with the rest of her game, and turbo + roadblasters are still alive and kicking! it’d practically be a slice of life AU if it weren’t for the fact that Alt!gene miraculously happens to suck at his job even more than the original
ALTER!!!!!! ALTER is an original character. He is the five nights at freddy’s repurposed reanimated bionic corpse of Walter, a guy who tried to stage a coup against the president several hundred years in the future. His body was sold to a fucked up and evil corporation for science. Walter’s pretty much dead, with the exception of some fragmented memories—rather, ALTER is a prototypical “biomechatron” who was encouraged to develop an independant personality construct for the purpose of creating an intelligent, self-directed form of entertainment. However, due to ALTER’s instability, obsessive tendencies, and the obvious ethical concerns of repurposing human brains, the idea was scrapped without his knowledge, and they instead focused their energy on making really intelligent and advanced robots. that’s when ŁILA enters the stage! She is 100% artificial and wants to get the fuck out of there. ALTER is oblivious and thinks that if he gets to perform with her that they’ll get to leave together. ŁILA knows that there’s no way that they’ll relinquish control over either of them (ALTER especially) and prepping a solo escape plan. There’s also human characters however i have not touched this story in a hot second and do not remember their names
