-- he wears his clothes loosely and he slouches as he sits in the chair in front of the captain’s desk, hands tucked away in his pockets and his dark hair is a mess. aleksandra wrinkles her nose at the sight of him, he looks as though he had rolled out of bed and put on a dirty uniform before arriving, and it is unsightly.

he greets her, however, with a lopsided, toothy grin and a little handwave. there is something else about him that stands out, and it causes the hair on the back of her neck to stand up. she straightens her back a little more as she turns back to the captain.

“sir, surely there must be some mistake?” she tries not to feel conceited at those words, but how could she be partnered with someone who doesn’t even dress respectfully? she hopes that the captain tells her that they’re still waiting for her partner, and this guy was being let go.

“no,” the captain answers and her hopes quickly die and she looks back at aston richards, whose lopsided smile has yet to leave. he seems even more amused now. “despite his looks, he is quite qualified for this mission and i would ask that you try to get along with him.”

background - he grew up in a small town in edhel, the human region, and was close to his mother and very protective of his little sister since her birth. he was forced to grow up quickly when his father was drafted to fight against the Church’s forces when he was seven. at eight, his father was declared dead.

at nine, his mother was forced to remarry or else lose the house and land they were living on. he witnessed horrific things as a child and did his best to protect his mother from his step fathers fists but always felt like he had failed.

his fondest memories are with her and his little sister walking through the lavender fields that are considered to be sacred to edhel.

eleven, his mother grew ill and medicine was in short supply as borders and help were cut off by the church. thirteen years old, his mother died in considerable pain. he did his best to protect his younger sister, and one day, found out that his step father had struck her -- and in a fit of rage, killed his stepfather. with that crime on his hands, he brought his little sister to a family friend, begging for them to take her in and that he promises he’ll go and find a job somewhere, send money back and get her when he is able to find stable housing.

he spent a year homeless before joining the Church, deciding to try to take them down on the inside.

Profile Re-Do: Aleksandra Tasheva, 24 years old.

Aleksandra Tasheva was born in Arilas, Edhel. However, she holds no memories of her childhood, and was found wandering the woods, mute, injured and very heavily traumatized. It would take her a few years for her to start talking again, but struggled with selective mutism.

Within the Church, she was treated harshly by the Boss but was treated like a daughter by the man who had found her, as well as his partner. They had left the Church one day, and did not bring her with -- and she perceived such an act as abandonment, and it didn’t help that the Boss encouraged that belief.

She finds it hard to get close to people, believing that they will leave her or get hurt because of her.

Aleksandra is best with stealth and poor with weapons. She is a hard worker to the point that she forgets to participate in basic care for herself -- believing her work is much more important than she is. She gets tunnel vision very easily, and is incredibly stubborn.

Aston Richards, the boy of lavender fields.

He’s always stuck in nostalgia, longing for a past that he knows he can never get back. His biggest fear is knowing he’s disappointed his deceased mother -- and let down his little sister. And their ghosts never go away.

Aleksandra Tasheva, aged 26. 

She was born on the Dragon’s Light Equinox -- a time where the dark sky lights up with a light blue, in the form of an old guardian, a dragon. Those who are born at this time are considered to be lucky and are believed to have an invisible guide to help them.

At the age of eight years old, Aleksandra’s parents died brutually in a fire that took out most of her village. She is found wandering in the winter fields of Edhel, which fell to the brutality of the Church and the Duke having surrendered, by a soldier of the Church, who took her in. There, she is trained as a soldier, the current leader having found her useful for their needs.

At 16, she is fully initiated.

20, and Aston is partnered with her -- and she finds she does not like him. He is too loud, too cheerful. He does not take their duties seriously. He disappears a lot.

And 26, they are stationed in Elidone, the neutral city. Here, she is saved by the strange vampire, Adrienne.

Aleksandra was brought to the main headquarters, often referred to as The Church--an order of special soldiers to bring in vampires and other such races--as a little girl. She had experienced trauma beforehand, witnessing her parents’ death but holds no memory of such an event.

She is a fiercely loyal young lady, hard headed, and very stubborn. Aleks is also very vocal about things, and is keen to say whatever is on her mind. She pretends that she has her emotions under rein, but everything she feels is very much on her face.

She’s not that good with technology, as she’s not super interested in it. She has a simple phone she uses to make phone calls to her partner or her bosses. Aleks has an interest in space, and knows a lot of astronomy. 

Aleks is also quite often accompanied by a stray dog whom she found when he was a puppy, and she aptly named him Sunlight for his golden brown fur and energy.

Aleks feels as if her lungs are constricting, her body chilling with every second that passes too slowly. Through blurry vision, she stares at the woman who looms above her, dark blonde hair almost covering her face. She tries to choke out a word, but the pain is too much.

“Let me help you,” The woman says, but there’s no mistaking the fangs so noticeable in her mouth. Is she going to die here? Is this what Sariel has decided for her? If it is, then fine, she will die. But why by a vampires hand?

As the woman descends down, her vision blackening, the only thought that passes through Aleks’ mind is,

I don’t want to die.
