The war had ended three weeks ago, and when the Redhair Pirates had seen Luffy in this kind of shock and wounded all over, they hadn’t been able to leave him there. There had been no other crew around to take him in, his own nakama not present. Shanks knew it was probably breaking his promise, but it was better than letting the boy die, wasn’t it? He doubted his decision every day a little more, wondering how Luffy would react, when he found out on whose ship he was. By now, they couldn’t tell, as he hadn’t woken up yet.

“He will be fine Shanks,” Benn tried to reassure his captain, again. As he had done so everyday since the war had ended. Though to be honest he wasn’t really sure himself. It wasn’t helping seeing Shanks in such a state of distress.

“Do you think so? I don’t want him to hate me because I break the promise. But he could have been died. Who else was there to take him in?” Shanks asked. It where those same questions he had asked time and time again.

“Shanks ... yes I think it was for the best,” Benn told him and then just pulled the man close, to take him into a comforting embrace. Benn knew he needed it. It was then that someone knocked at their door, and then didn’t even wait to be called in. It was Rockstar who seemed to not recognize in what state he had found his superiors.

“Captain, Benn ... he’s awake. Doc said he’s finally awake.”

Journal entry: 5th of July

Today I went to apologize for Gale's behaviour towards those I considered the only friends I had here, that went wrong. After speaking with Gale she understood that if she ever did any wrong to them I would make her regret it, and she knows I keep my words, so she backed off and swore to keep it to herself.

I was happy, that meant I would get to stay and have a normal life with... unique friends I guess? but then again life always comes and ruins me, Matt treated me as if I were dispposable, Hayden stole my first kiss, not that it was bad, but I didn't want for it to be like that. Then Luke, who told me to walk away and forget what happened, I can't say I am not hurt, because it does.

I will stay here for now, my father is occupied in other things, as always, but then again I have no one to talk to, and I surely not planning on ever texting matt, he made me feel so horrible that I cried the whole way home when I have sworn I would never cry for a man, then again he doesn't care. 

I am tired now, I hope there is a little light among all this darkness, god knows I had enough heartbreak for a life time.
