PTG Internatonal Youth College is a private and independent boarding school for young people, based at the Tvind campus in western Denmark. It is an alternative school where young people from different walks of life and nationalities can study, work and live together. The school caters for people aged 16 – 25 years.
The school promotes social responsibility and works actively to increase cultural awareness and inclusivity through cultural actions in the local community, as well as on study trips abroad – if possible.
Some of the students at the schools come from troubled backgrounds and need social support to build a successful future.
The school functions as a social community where everybody contributes with their strengths and positive efforts, and receives support in areas where they are lacking. PTG International Youth College at Tvind is hence another kind of “ungdomshøjskole” – a unique school with an extraordinary programme and good results.

Adventures in an Alternative High School
So I go to an alternative high school in Alaska and boy do things get fucking wild.
1. Yesterday in my physical science class a kid mixed a bottle of orange soda with nos, Red Bull, and a tiny bit of coffee into a great big water bottle some girl had, chugged the whole thing, and then ended up in the teen health office puking and had to go home. Our teacher just watched.
2. In the same class on the same day we were doing individual experiments(the puking kid wanted to see if his stomach would melt) and this one kid wanted to see how gunpowder burns or something so he got gunpowder and lit it and immediately burned his eyebrows off.
3. Today we were doing an advisory activity with the whole school(approximately 63 kids showed up today) so we broke off into groups of 7 or 8 and each had a teacher assigned to the group. We were going over healthy relationships and working our way to different tables as groups with different kinds of relationships written on big sheets of paper(so like parents, dating, or friends) and we were supposed to write what those healthy relationships look like. We get to the community sheet and we’re writing stuff down and the science teacher goes “KINK SHAMING” so we’re like “what???” And he just says “in a good community you don’t kink shame each other” so we wrote it down and some kid goes “so don’t kink shame me then I guess?” To which our teacher says “BUT KINK SHAMING IS MY KINK” like that vine...This has been a great first week so far.
I’ll update with more later!
About living in Germany Part one
I was living nearly my whole life in Germany. I moved with my family in my first year to Germany, because my oldest brother had to start to go to school. My mother decided for a new developing alternative school in the center of Germany. The 'Freie Schule Untertaunus'. The School: Freie Schule Untertaunus
(In this school is more freedom than in government schools, the teachers are no teacher, they are teamer) The Community: Zentrum Prinzhöfte
There my mother startet to develope an alternative kindergarden, where I also went. The Kindergarden: Prinzhöfte Kindergarten
Movie about the Kindergarden: Den Kindern das Wort geben, von Anfang an Movie Trailer I lived in the community until I was 17. My first 6-7 years were like paradise and I am not grown up rich. My father was grown up rich, but he had no happy childhood. Than I went to the usual school in the next 5km far village, while the kindergarden was growing and while a new alternative school developed out of the kindergarden. My step father who was one of the founders of this community, was one of the people who developed the school. I think it is a very nice school and I wished I would have gone there, but I was to old for this school. The School: Prinzhöfte Schule Bassum
In this school the kids are learning somehow what they are interested in and they don't get marks or homework. The children learn to learn. Not just to listen and to get judged. The kids don't learn in subects they learn in projects and the teacher aren't teacher, they are just helper. The first class who finished the school at the end with an official exam out of school got the best marks an private school in Niedersachsen ever got, and before the last year they never got marks before. It was the class of my step father and after this class he left the school and went to other schools in Bremen, to help there. In Bremen he nearly got a leader of an government school but even if all the other teacher and the kids wanted this, the government don't allowed him, he is to rebellious and want to change the school, so he left this school again and startet to be just a teacher for subjects, like psychology and biology for the classes 11-13. So I had to went to the normal school in the next village, where I felt like I was different than all the others. In this time the other kids were laughing about organic food, colorful clothes and living in a community or criticising MC Donalds and living without television. (Well they were also laughing about my place of birth and the death of my father, but that's a different story) If you think about this, you will maybe also see, that the world is allready changing. Today organic food is well known and liked and you can get it even in a usual Supermarket. Everywhere are developing communities, different Lifestyles and alternative schools. In my early years, this wasn't imageable.
