So today I didn’t so much learn a new thing about myself as fortify an opinion I already had.

I was at a friend’s birthday party and a fair while into the night, waiting for a drink, I was very heavily flirted with by a very drunk girl who approved of my hat, apparently.

And I was not at all into it. Like, all power to her, she can do what she wants - but there was nothing about that scenario that I personally found appealing.

I think that I’m only ever really attracted to people I already know. And this is probably why dating seems so monstrous and terrifying to me. Because; the fuck? I don’t know who this person is. What am I supposed to do here? How am I supposed to make a decision about liking or having sex with this person within the space of however-long-this-date-is? Madness. I need a few days, maybe even weeks, to get to comfortable with that.
