matt held up a hand to pause alex before one word could get out , quickly lifting the shot - glass to his lips to knock back his first round of the night . running into the other man wasn’t exactly in his plans ( otherwise he would’ve started drinking way sooner ) . hardly grimacing as he placed the miniature glass back down on the bar , he made a gesture , “ okay , now go . ” was he being dramatic ? maybe a little , but matt thinks he’s a lot more sociable when he’s got some booze in his system . honestly , he’s doing alex a favor .
