Have you had a US wine made from the Touriga varietal? Well, I had not. We import and sell a 100% Touriga from the Dao region in Portugal and also sell several other blends that include Touriga. We didn’t know what to expect from this 2015 Touriga from DeWitt Vineyards in Amador. What we got was a fantastic wine - a fantastic expression of this grape at a price that, for California, is quite inexpensive ($24). Beautiful dark fruits balanced nicely with acid and medium tannin.
