@daydreamerblues Thank you so much for reading ♥️ I wanted to respond via post because I have more thoughts than I think I could write in a comment. Haha!
First of all, I’m so glad it came across that way! And honestly same, I’d also have that sliver of doubt forever and ever. I was really debating whether or not they’d tell her, and I realized that anyone they’ve told has -witnessed- the scary paranormal stuff. Even Erica was confused when they discussed the Gate, thinking it was caused by the Russians because that was her experience. So without witnessing the bad stuff (because fingers crossed, it’s gone), I think the Reader would have thought they were making fun of her for asking. It would have been a dick move.
But I do like to think that somewhere, far down the line, they start to sprinkle it in. Maybe she witnesses El using her powers and Argyle gives her a little “told you”. And that’d be a lot to handle even, so later down the line, they’d just pepper in “oh remember when that demodog ate Mews?” And she is like the what ate who?
Also to answer your other question, they haven’t discussed the “official” question yet, but Steve absolutely brags to Calahan about his “girlfriend” and how smart she is. Reads big books, like really heavy ones. And when she’s hit on at work or at the beginning-of-term frat parties, she proudly claims she’s taken, earning a few eyebrow waggles from the girls.
Thank you so so so much for reading though xo
