The Bloody Delight

To say that Arthur Kirkland wasn’t well known would be an utter lie. Although it was true that little was known about him personally. Many did know him as the captain of ‘The Bloody Delight’. Kirkland was one of the most bloodthirsty and vile pirates to ever roam the seas, according to the world.

Captain Kirkland was well known for raiding ships, pillaging towns and kidnapping young good looking people, especially men. No one understood why he kidnapped people and could only speculated. Spreading many rumors that the Captain used the kidnapped people for vile reasons before disposing of them.

Little did everyone know that Kirkland was a sly thief who enjoyed taking credit from other pirates as well as their treasures. He would stay in the shadows and wait before making a move. Once his informants relayed that a lesser known pirate had planned a raid he would move in and take their prize.

 It was easy to steal credit when your ship was so well known that even an idiot could tell who it belonged to. His ship was a beautifully crafted two-decker frigate of the third rate. Kirkland choose to go with crimson flags vs the norm black and white. His flag had a white skull with two crossed cutlass under it.

When the other pirate began the raid, Kirkland had his men join the chaos and get what he desired. Kirkland usually stayed back on his ship during raids with a few of his best men to defend the ship from the navy and fellow pirates.

There was nothing Kirkland loved more than stealing what others desired; especially fame in the pirating world. He was the embodiment of greed to be sure.

“Captain it’s begun.” 

Arthur grinned darkly as he looked up from a map. “ Tell t’ men t’ have fun and enjoy themselves.”

The man nodded and quickly left to spread the news. Arthur leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. He ignored all the noise coming from outside.

“I wonder what treasure shall be mine this time.” his proper English slipping through.
