How long have you both been in the kh fandom? What was the thing that got you into kh?

Oh boy, that’s a while ago. I personally have been into Kingdom Hearts in general since it first came out 17 years ago, but I didn’t get the chance to play it myself until after Kingdom Hearts 2 came out in 2006.
I remember the first time I ever saw Kingdom Hearts in general. It was at a friend’s house and he was in the Cave of Wonders in Agrabah. I was SMITTEN instantly and just sat there in front of the tv slack jawed. Had no idea what it was, and I didn’t care. All I knew was that I loved it.
Once they saw I was interested, they restarted the game and I knew then that I needed to know more. We didn’t have a PS2 at the time, or internet, so all my interactions with the game had to be purely through asking around. Then when I finally was able to get my hands on a PS2, I immediately went out and got KH2. I was incredibly confused by everything happening, but I played the entire game. Except when Sora first appeared after Roxas said his summer vacation was over. I was SO MAD! lol! Quit playing for a month… but then I beat it and got all the other games, and have been obsessed since.
Disney is what initially pulled me in. The amazing characters and their unbreakable bonds are what got me to stay.

I originally got into the series ten years ago (ish). This was back around the time Blockbuster was still around and they rented out games. I was out with my family to pick up some movies one day and when I saw KH2 sitting there on the shelf, I knew I had to play it, despite knowing next to nothing about the series. All I saw was Disney characters, and some kid with a giant key.
Just like Lucky, I was completely and utterly confused. I had no idea who Roxas was, or what Nobodies were, or even who Sora was. Unlike Lucky, I had absolutely no prior experience with the series. To be honest, I don’t remember much of that first play through -- except totally rage quitting at Demyx and not touching it for -- you guessed it! -- a whole month.
But somewhere along the way I fell in love with it. Some of my first sojourns into fanfiction were to look for KH fics. I found one that I loved at the time that followed Riku and a self insert through KH1. Thus started my ten year long infatuation with him. I started drawing keys and doors and quotes from the games on all of my school notes and then finally writing my own fanfiction!
I think mainly, KH just appealed to my sense of wanderlust -- I wanted so badly to see other worlds, go on adventures, even though I was a teenager and knew better, hehe. Never stopped me from dreaming.
