The reality of living in a food desert in the middle of pandemic when you're a single parent.
you have to go two hours and any directions in order to go get groceries and nobody to keep your kid so you can go in because when your kid is under 2 and they're not requiring people under 2 to wear a mask.
I get it it's for health reasons that it's not as easy for them to get oxygen but they're just as likely to catch the virus and pass it on to somebody else all that means is that a single parent with a child under 2 years old can't go into a store and isn't really welcome out in the public right now.
but I have a small mom-and-pop restaurant just down the road owned by people that have known me since I was born.
I mentioned in conversation once my issues with getting groceries and the next thing you know not only am having bags of fruit and vegetables dropped at my door you're also having meals randomly dropped by.
Gosh I love my community.
Supporting small businesses is so much more then just taking money away from Big corporations it's reigniting the soul of a community. It's having genuine compassion for the people around you and trying to take care of them and then try to take care of you in turn.
