everyone say thank you ameer for the espio enthusiasm. anyways I may be a little insane but i really like that funny little chameleon. like. i love how he so obviously acts like a teenager trying to seem like an adult. like he tries to act all ~ mature ~ but he is so obviously 16. like lmao theres this moment in the idw comics where sonic and shadow are fighting and vectors like "we should help sonic!" but then they run by rlly fucking fast and vectors like "nvm... there's no way we can keep up with them" and espio says HANG ON I FOUND IT

also he loves his family <3 like ok real talk the whole situation w the chaotix in the metal virus arc FUCKED ME UP !! it really showcases their characters and loyalty to each other even in the most fucked up situations and they made the funny purple chameleon cry are you seeing this shit. like genuinely i rlly appreciate that the idw writers were given a lot of leeway and creative freedom with side characters like the chaotix and creams family and tangle and whisper and whatnot. like for more central characters Sega puts a lot more restrictions and mandates on their portrayals (shitty mandates imo. you cant tell me theres a single person who doesnt have issues with shadows portrayal in idw, especially in earlier chapters). but when it comes to these less prominent characters theres less restrictions and you rlly get to see the writers love for the characters and the story shine. like, the idw comics are what made me love characters like the chaotix and cream and vanilla.
also i think its rlly funny how sega just said yeah the crocodile and the chameleon and the bee? remember those guys? theyre a weird funny little family. we will not elaborate. like ok thanks for the creative freedom. I will now spend 20 hours thinking abt backstories and lore.
speaking of backstories and lore i do have a lot of thoughts abt the funny little chameleons backstory. its kind of sad tho bc im a sad person and somehow im embarassed to talk abt it even tho ive literally spent 20 minutes writing this like i cant possibly get more cringe. but whatever
