Kathleen M. Amell’s Backstory

Kathleen Amell is the first-born child to Revka Amell. At the age of 10, Kathleen was sent off to the Ferelden Circle of Magi due to her magic. At the circle, Kathleen met a fellow mage Selene and quickly befriended her. This friendship continued throughout the years, even to this day. Later on, they met another Mage named Jowan, who then turned out to be a blood mage. After the events of Jowan and Lily's attempted escape, Kathleen was taken into the Grey Wardens, being forced to leave Selene behind. Though their friendship didn't stop there, they reunited when Kathleen, Cloette Cousland, Alistair, and Wynne returned to the Ferelden Circle to seek support of the Mages to see that it had been overrun. Kathleen quickly became concerned for Selene, thinking she had been killed by one of the abominations. Thankfully, as Kathleen searched the tower, killing every abomination in sight, she reunited with Selene. The two best friends defeated the rest of the abominations and saved the Tower. The horrid sight of the mages she once knew turned into abominations and blood mages made her have a strong distaste for blood magic. When the group returned to the Templars, Kathleen conscripted Selene and had the mages support when facing the Archdemon. Although Selene was conscripted, Kathleen never turned her into a Grey Warden. From that point forward Kathleen and Selene continued to travel together. When the Archdemon was defeated, Cloette was promoted to Warden Commander of Ferelden and Queen of Ferelden, Kathleen was promoted to Warden Constable and her Amell Noble status was restored. Kathleen continued to travel with Selene, dealing with her cousins and second-cousins during the timeline of Dragon Age 2. Years after the civil war began in Kirkwall, Selene and Kathleen were given instructions by Cloette Cousland to be bodyguards for King Alistair to inspect the Inquisition while Cloette deals with the regular businesses of being Queen. Since then they assisted the Inquisition.
