“Hmm... been a while since we got people from the surface here.”
Next redesign is Amentia! Of which I totally forgot she existed sorry girl. Info below!
Amentia of Surar is the “princess” of the Surar people, a small Drakian village from Fatue that was forced to live underground after a very nasty drought and a damaging eruption destroyed their land and crops. They fortunately found a natural spring in the eastern side of the Magix cave system, which also received decent amounts of sunlight thanks to an opening above and had fertile soil. They rebuilt their town and became autonomous, still being part of the Fatue republic but mostly left to their own devices. Amentia is just a princess in title only, as her role is that of leader and commander for farming and combat, as they’ve had to deal with several nasty creatures down in their lane. She also acts as ambassador, for both the nearby Gnome settlement and for the Council of Magix. Stella and Brandon meet her when lost in their search for the Pixies in Darkar’s Lair, and she agrees to help them search for the Pixies and their friends, wanting to know what’s going on at Shadowhaunt herself to better protect her people.
minor villians! (minor meaning they only appeared briefly or weren’t the main villians)
tidbits below the cut
Politea is/was the fairy of justice, and Daphne’s room mate at alphea. Though she kept up a good relationship with Daphne on the surface, she was intensely jealous and bitter about Daphne’s power compared to her own. Originally Daphne kept her power source a secret, but after a particularly difficult battle she told Politea about the dragon flame. Politea was envious of Daphne’s position as the most powerful nymph, and tried a lot of nefarious methods to increase her power, but nothing really rivaled the Dragon Flame so Politea went to the witches and told them who the current holder was. The witches thanked her, and then set Politea’s own magic of justice against her. Politea acted like a petty vicious monster so she got turned into one.
Mandragora was the fairy of insects, and tho she still uses fairy transformations(specifically she’s in Faunix here, my replacement for butterflix) she has aligned herself with the witches. Whether this was entirely her own choice or because of exposure the magic radiation of obsidian isn’t totally clear. Either way the Ancestral took advantage of her power and kept her as a back-up just in case something went wrong during the final assault on domino (spoiler alert: it did)
OK I KNOW AMENTIA WAS LIKE. A B-RATE VILLAIN AT BEST BUT THE DOWNLANDERS ARE SO STUPIDLY UNNECESSARY I LOVE THEM. Trogs are a matriarchy, and have amphibian, reptile, and some insect qualities. They see extremely well in the dark, have no body hair, and the females have no boobs ok they’re lizard people they don’t have mammary glands. they range in color from orange to a grey blue, but rarely have any red or purple so these colors are reserved for royalty or really rich peeps. Amentia is hella spoiled, and probs has some form of ocd.
The Ancestral Witches are triplets born on Omega before it became a desert ice planet/prison. Multiple births are already a sign of immense magical potential, and the massive dark spell/black hole Obsidian was formed at their birth, the radiation from that boosted their power even more. They received almost no formal training being naturally talented and bouncing off each other well enough that their combined power was almost unbeatable. They did briefly work with Lord Darkar, and they created Valtor out of a corrupted spark of dragon flame, but generally their magic results in catastrophe when any one outside of the triplets tries to contribute. They are absolutely ancient, but use terrible spells to prolong their life, which is why they’re faded and physically fragile.(any injuries are quickly repaired with magic) Their physical bodies are mostly held together with magic tbh. Their outfits aren’t quite a transformation but they’re not normal clothing either. Their magic is so powerful it creates the head gear and glow on their clothing(very unusual for witches not using a fairy transformation) their magic also leaks out of their eyes and into their witch-marks which is NOT normal. historians theorize that the amount of magic each sister produced actually damaged their mind and limited them to very few emotions and physical sensations.
