I haven't been feeling very patriotic lately. It's really hard when our government is not looking out for our health, safety and that of our allies, our neighboring countries, our land and our resources. This 4th of July season I'm spending the holiday far away from town. I have not and will not hear one single firework this year. I'm happy about the (rare in July) gloomy weather that reflects my sadness about the state of the union and puts a damper in the festivities. I know that's pretty messed up but so are we! Celebrating, relaxing and letting loose is important, but in the name of tyrannical, fascist dictatorship such as ours.. makes me sick. The land, the people I've met, I will always love. Here's to hoping that soon, things will be very different.
