"Ooh... A job right away. Not great at leaving targets alive, bossman, but... I can paint a pretty clear message for you," Zolf purred, idly leaning on the bar.

💦Hughes dreamed that everyone had gone to bed but for some reason he had the shower to himself. As dream logic goes, there was no risk of the drill sergeant demanding him to get back to his bunk for lights out. Just as he was lathering up, he felt a hand on his shoulder and turned to find Roy standing behind him, also naked. Roy said that he had been thinking about him all day and shoved him back against the shower wall to kiss him deeply.
Then Roy trailed kisses down Hughes's neck, chest, and abs as he got onto his knees and took him into his mouth while the water ran down Roy's head and body. When Hughes couldn't take it anymore, he caught Roy by the shoulders and brought him up to his feet.
Another passionate kiss pressed Roy against the wall this time. Hughes pulled away just long enough to ask if Roy wanted him, and Roy whispered back that he'd wanted him for such a long time. So they turned Roy around and Hughes took him against the wall. The shower echoed with loud moans, but no one came to interrupt. When they climaxed, it was together, holding hands tightly.
Roy turned to say something important, but the alarm went off, and Hughes never found out what it was. But the damp spot in the front of his pants reminded him vividly of the rest.
"That is quite the dream. Although I can't say I haven't at least had something similar. Maybe I should keep this tidbit as food for thought."

Every time someone he did not readily recognize entered his establishment---yes, his establishment, though folks would always wish to deny his sovereignty, based on his appearance, and then they would rue their foolishness, and quite often walk away with one less appendage---Kuja was always keen on personally engaging in examination of new arrivals.
At this current time, though, his attention had been slightly distracted, as he had been idly attending to the weekly payroll issues (everyone always insisted on a raise, when such demands required such mathematical manipulations, and considerations of his employees' usefulness, and how much he actually liked them---ah, in the end, he was forced to be so very generous!).
And while diligently tending to his work, idly enjoying his personally favored drink---an Aviation, made so cautiously by the newest bartender with a little extra ice, and light on the gin---such a handsome gentleman had chosen to arrive, and, as he chose to address him, Kuja's peripheral attention immediately honed in on him.
That he had approached him and would be so bold as to offer him a drink? Oh, how delectable---and however could Kuja focus on such an extensive list of dull numbers when the temptation of an alluring stranger---such nonchalantly-tousled golden hair, such brilliant baby-blues---was present?
"I shall say, they certainly do not water it down," was Kuja's initial greeting, one hand pushing aside his paperwork while allowing the graceful fingers of his other hand to slide suggestively along the length of the glass' stem. Azure eyes gazed towards the stranger, lined by such long, ebon lashes. "So please, do feel free to order me whatever you wish---your treat."
Obviously, there were some that would not expect the somewhat "masculine"-slant of his vocal tone that belied his rather femme fatale appearance---but if that ended up being a bother to this newest patron?
Well, Kuja would have no qualms with slapping his hand.
With a knife.

Kimbley was no fool, of course.
He knew that his alchemical abilities were leagues above the typical soldier, but dealing with a homunculus---two, in fact---would be vastly unwise.
No, now that his objective had been completed, the child homunculus now secured at the behest of his current employer, it was time for a swift retreat.
"I shall admit, your candor is somewhat admirable," he stated---though it was quite the bland delivery, reflecting no actual admiration in the least, "---but it's also flagrantly stupid. If you truly wish to be cunning in approaching a battle, wait until you are most certainly prepared to face whatever will come at you."
This was not to be perceived as cowardice, of course---this was simply well-implemented wisdom.
"Stave death as long as you can, boy," he added, coaxing with his hand as he began stepping backwards, toward the hole in the wreckage through which he had initially entered Southern Headquarters with quite the impressive bang. "But if you wish to ignore my advice, I have no issue leaving you to your recapture---and, likely, your demise."
Sure, the "Boss-man" might not be too entirely pleased with that sort of turn of events, but Kimbley had no interest in further squandering his time while two homunculi were prowling around, and several more dozens of military lackeys would be flooding the area soon enough.

The barfight, as per usual, had been swiftly-handled, the raucous offenders promptly warned with a couple of well-aimed gunshots at the their mugs of whiskey, glass exploding like shrapnel---and before Xigbar had even holstered his firearm, they'd zipped on out of there as though caught on fire.
And this time, nobody had to die.
They were definitely new in town, so putting them in their place was absolutely necessary. Everyone else knew him, of course, during the few days he had been here---and it didn't take a lot of time to memorize his face, his demeanor, and, most importantly, his reputation.
The Freeshooter, come over the Pacific from the Far-Far East, cutting a jagged, terrifying path across the U.S.-of-A.---and here in Arizona, still no one had proven to be a faster, more accurate shot than him.
What was humorous, though, was that Xigbar really didn't care about any of that. His only goal was to just drift about, seeking out anything that would catch his fancy, all while perfecting his drawl. This country was supposed to be "the land of opportunity," after all, but thus far, not very many opportunities seemed to present themselves.
Boots propped up on the table, arms crossed, hat tipped over his eye to block out the sun---though intent on enjoying its warmth---he sensed a presence, and heard a voice:
" you must've really pissed those guys off, huh? "
With a flick of his finger at the brim of his hat, he examined the man that had addressed him. A youngun, with a sweet face and kindly expression, untouched by the cruelty of time---and definitely also new to this town.
Xigbar couldn't help but wonder how long he'd last here.
"I piss everyone off, kiddo," and Xigbar folded his arms behind his head and leaned back in his chair, only the back legs supporting his weight, his single golden eye glittering the promise of further mischief. "That's just the way it goes."

Intrusion upon his domain had never been acceptable. Anyone who wandered into his private spaces were to be eliminated on the spot---no questions asked, no consequences feared.
And yet, the homunculus was... different.
Alas.
Even in this place of meditation---this enclosed sanctuary in which Kimbley did as he pleased---the homunculus had access. He had the "keys to the kingdom" that was the Devil's Nest, after all---this establishment had been designated as his property, from top to bottom. Every single nook and cranny was his to explore---and, if it hadn't been previously accessible, he made it accessible.
Thus the discord that was to ensue over Kimbley's "secret chamber."
However, the two of them had managed to come to an agreement: the homunculus be the only one, other than Kimbley himself, to have access to this room---and he leave Kimbley to his business. As long as none of the homunculus' possessions were damaged, that was all that was required in terms of allowing his privacy.
And thus far, he'd not been bothered---had been entirely free to engage in his "studies" uninterrupted, every detail of the secluded room tailored to his own specifications: from the human-sized metal slab in the center of the room; to the meat hooks dangling from various, precisely-chosen areas of the ceiling; to the array of his "tools" adorning every wall, organized in a quite specific fashion to suit his own tastes.
Oh, how gruesome this particular session had become---and here, abruptly, the homunculus caught him right in the middle of that gruesomeness.
The rudeness was appalling.
Fortunately, his "experiment" had ceased its screaming, but the music from the corner record player carried on: a cacophonic symphony from a Drachman opera---a booming chorus, the keening strings, the intense percussion, a solo piano of such a complex expertise---now dwindling softly to a soothing aria, featuring the voice of the tortured heroine in a somber, fluttering soprano.
Unabashedly drenched in red, face dripping, sleeveless shirt soaked, Kimbley faced the intruder---his overall static visage accompanied by a slightly downturned corner of the mouth, perhaps managing to express his displeasure.
"Quite the intriguing compliment," he stated blandly, allowing himself to lean backwards onto the edge of the slab, gore-coated claws tapping the metal in a rhythm to imply impatience, "but I must ask if there is a reason you've interrupted me. I was under the impression that I would be left to my own devices."

"Ah, yes, the lovely ladies of the cryptid universe.
"Of course, I would suppose they aren't actually ladies, given it's very doubtful they would go by such terms---but it's always a delight to jest every now and then.
"But back on topic:
"A creature of a unique appearance, to be certain: semi-humanoid, but still donning strange features, such as its overall height, the spade-like shape of its head, and the sort of rounded, glowing eyes that are far from that of a human's.
"Yet, it ultimately breaks down to the fact that there is no overt monstrous physicality---its descriptions are tame in terms of its terror---and there is no true threat behind this creature, as it has never caused any harm besides being frightening to its onlookers. Its only menacing attribute is that it is simply not human.
"Alas, my dear lady, you only receive a 3 out of 10.
"But know that your beauty will always linger on in the hearts and minds of those of Braxton County, and that can be your consolation prize."
