I need your input guys -
So I’m moving closer to my work. I have a place all lined up; its kinda like a duplex and my neighbor is a coworker who I’m subletting from. She’s a single mom who works full time so I understand that she’s busy but she hasn’t been communicating with me. She has changed the price on me a few times, had me pay rent a month early and over charged me. Then it took her forever to send me the key and actually sent it to a different location, however I was able to find it. And then her washer and dryer has been in my kitchen (which blocks the laundry area, the bathroom and the stairs to the living room and the bedrooms) for over a month; she told me a week ago that she was moving them but when my sisters went to over there to put some things away, they were still there and there was a RABBIT in my bathtub!!! I went over after work and took pictures of everything and took the keys that were in the separating door. It wasn’t until then that she started to message me on FB (her phone is broken), asking if I had been to the house. I ignored her and her final message was for me to call her on her bf’s phone. I was so livid! I made a list of everything that she had done that was sketchy and I had gotten the number of the landlord which she wouldn’t give to me because “the landlord wants nothing to do with me” because her name is on the lease. But then when I talked to her and she explained everything, I felt better. All I wanted was for her to communicate with me and tell me that her uncle bailed on her to moved the washer and dryer. That her sons pet rabbit’s cage broke and they had no place to put it except in my tub. The 3 main things that make this place ideal is A) close to work B) cheaper price than what I pay now and C) it’s month to month. I don’t know what to do. I know I don’t want to be swindled but now I have the landlords number and I will be in touch with him if any more sketchy business happens AND I will not write my checks to her. I’m waiting to hear back on some new that will hopefully come on the 16th of October - Then I’ll know for sure what to do. But what do you guys think?
