What are your thoughts on Amelie?
She is a mess. What is her motivation, what did she know, when did she know it? L
Why does she hate Gabriel? Does she blame him for Emilie? It seems pretty clear that Emilie wasn't being pushed or persuaded to use magic instead of adopt. She was eyes wide open.
Was Colt actually a good guy before the senti-curse turned him sour? Does she resent his death? Do you remember when Felix was upset at Adrien for not attending the funeral?
Why didn't Amilie reach out to Ladybug much much sooner(or at all really) why is she sitting passively by and leaving everything in the hands of her 14yr old Senti-son, especially when she knew Gabe could erase him at a whim? Does she secretly despise Felix?
Are her interactions with Felix meant to be sweet? There always seems to be an air of falsity or wrongness about them. In another show I'd suggest it's some abuse survivor patterns, but we know ML doesn't consider anything shirt of direct physical injury/death to be harm.
As TA tweeted(paraphrase): She has a roof over her head and food on the table, she can't be abused.
It's like they want girlboss Amilie(they really only have a single personality for strong female characters) but she's written so amazingly passively that it doesn't work for me.
The one time I dove into her psyche to write her into a story I made her doting to a fault. Sweet to the point of saccharine, seemingly vapid and permissive, but still shrewd in a motherly way about things.
She's not ignorant of what she went through as the scion of nobility, but instead of rebelling she has molded herself and adapted to fit that world. She cares the world for Felix, hut at the same time subjects him to similar pressures she was subjected to growing up. Hers just come in a silk glove instead of an iron fist.
-This took the form of gentle comphet pressures to her aro/ace son. Encouraging his interactions with girls, talking up the most minor things, not acknowledging his protests, etc.
Back to canon, I'd say we have not enough info and too much contradictory info to really say much about her definitively.
