27 Feb 2017. Day 27 #AmpersandFeb17: Outfit. Dresses or pants? The majority of my wardrobe is made up of dresses because I’m a short human and with dresses (and most skirts) you don’t really have to alter them at all. And my FAVOURITE items of clothing are my dresses with pockets! I mean, I do constantly put stuff in my pockets and forget that it’s in there. The other day I found a pen I’d misplaced three hours before, and I keep freaking out and thinking that I’ve left my phone somewhere when it’s sitting comfortably in my pocket the whole time. But that says more about me than anything else.

14 Feb 2017. Day 14 #AmpersandFeb17: Gift. Valentine’s Day? Pfft! It's International #BookGivingDay?! I did a quick survey of my bookshelves and found a few books to donate but I didn't end up buying a new one for myself like I thought I would. I think I’m in a book-buying slump. Is that a thing? I’m making it a thing. So here are some themed gifts that I’ve recently received. Turns out I'm really not that hard to buy for 😂 Has one of your favourite books ever started as a gift? Back when we were living in the Solomon Islands, my mum brought back a copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone as a special treat for me and my siblings. And, well, we all know how that turned out.

13 Feb 2017. Day 13 #AmpersandFeb17: Galentine | #GrimDragon: Favourite Female Characters. Happy Galentine’s Day! These are some of my favourite literary ladies. I haven't actually read Outlander yet but I fell in love with the first season of the show and I got my Claire Funko for Christmas. You know that feeling when you just want to start about 50,000 books at once? IT'S SO FRUSTRATING. So I'm going to bed immediately in order to stay up later than I ordinarily would to read. 24 Feb 2017. Day 24 #AmpersandFeb17: Grimm. If you could have a retelling/adaptation of any fairytale, which would you choose? I’d actually like a cool and super-dark retelling of Rumpelstiltskin. That guy was messed up. Happy 231st birthday to Wilhelm Grimm! Between cultural references and idioms, I honestly can’t imagine life without some of the Grimm fairytales.

16 Feb 2017. Day 16 #AmpersandFeb17: Destroy. Would you prefer to be a hobbit, an elf or a dwarf? I'm going with elf. Endless time for reading 👌 Besides, one does not simply walk into Mordor and destroy Sauron’s favourite bling. Especially not when one is a tricksy little hobbit.

15 Feb 2017. Day 15 #AmpersandFeb17: Create. I MADE A MANDRAKE. I’m quite proud of this little guy but let me tell you a secret: he has a brother. His brother was my first attempt at using clay and I’ve named him Pancake. Why? Because you always mess up the first pancake, right? Now, Pancake was never going to turn out how I imagined because it turns out I’m not very talented when it comes to clay. But did he REALLY need to turn out looking like an aggressive love child of the poo emoji and the Michelan Man? Probably not. Pancake also dealt with my attempts to make him look more plant-like and that’s when I found out that I’m not very good at painting either. One day I’ll show you Pancake, and I hope he makes your day because he has made me cry many tears of laughter in the past couple of weeks. Next HP craft project: potions bottles! Surely I can't mess them up, right? Please tell me your failed craft projects so we can laugh at/with each other 💩
