Portrait of Kalyani Sharma, better know as Katherine Sharma. She was a romance novelist from Amphinis, who later moved to Idealps to escape discrimination. Miss Sharma lived a long life in Idealps writing novels in dedication to many nobles and even some royals.

Her true claim to fame however comes through her only son Mytis Lachapelle, father of former King Hyacinth of Glimmerier and thus she is the great grandmother of Queen Asteria. Although estranged and detached from her descendants Miss Sharma attended the marriage of her grandson, marriage of her great granddaughter, and the coronation of Queen Asteria when she was 98 years old. The following year Miss Sharma passed away mere weeks from her 100th birthday.

Here in this portrait, Miss Sharma is still just 15, unaware of the tumultuous life ahead of her or that her descendants will be placed on royal thrones. The daughter of a merchant and geologist, a young woman who called her home a small town overran by violence

This question is convoluted because the politics of future Pridaxus is not one I think about. But over the course of 1000 years after about 1080 there will be substantial political upheaval, some countries will split some will merge etc the map will look very different.

I think Amphinis is one of the first countries to break apart. I have had people previously ask why is Amphinis even united, but it’s for their mutual benefit. It’s hard for any of those islands to exist as their own country and not worry about potential invasions. But at the same time it would be easy to split. Sweetfish has the most resources to split from the rest of the islands, the Loe Islands have the most physical force to become independent, and Lily Rock/Twin Island are the furthest away geographically.

And I do imagine they rearrange and split from one another. I can see Nereus and the Ondes being captured by the Loe Islands and being the Confederation of Loe Islands. I can see Aliria officially becoming a Colony of Idealps (though Idealps will probably change too). Sweetfish becoming the Sovereign Nation of Sweetfish and Lily Rock/Twin Island becoming the Kingdom of Triplet Rocks.

Next that splits is Elvenwick. Still within living memory of people who experienced the war (because Elvenwick has a high life expectancy). I can see the lords funding a coup on the Prince, naming one of themselves as Prince and forcing the Astaseuls to escape to Glimmerier, cities that benefit on the Astaseul such as Asyeren, Cupper, and Taesi might reinstate the Prince and split from Cobbelstone and Fyn Port which support the new Prince. Lines will be redrawn as Civil war (between both rivaling factions and also an uprising of disinfranchised people who will side with the Astaseul eventually) proceeds but that will probably end in two nations The Principility of Asyeren (Astaseul support) and The Principality of Elvenwick (The Lords support). Eventually kinds a in a War of the Roses one side will prevail and reunite the country but kinda an unexpected one.

Glimmerier due to financial insecurity would stay united for years and years. Eventually there are two cousins equally eligible for the throne that causes really bad fighting amongst each other which causes the rapid fracturing of Glimmerier into several mini countries. I also imagine they’d own a bit of Iolcaea. Eventually both sides will marry into each other but they would recognize each country as a country and declare the Empire of Glimmerier, headed by an Empress.

Idealps would change the slowest/not at all. When they see Amphinis fighting they would officially take over Ailiria, which would cut off the eastern most islands and promote their independence. At a certain point Idealps might even attempt to take them over which would be success. Some districts in general would be redrawn but that’s the only changes. They would go back to calling themselves the Idealpian Empire.

But these are just some ideas!!
