When the attack came, Salem was likely more pleased than many of the other elites. Finally, some excitement and action. The alpha wasted no time in getting his hands bloody. He saved a few pets here and there, but mostly, he just enjoyed the killing. However as the giant wolf ripped one more goblin from the corpse of a fallen pet, it reminded him there was one he wanted alive and so Salem began to search for Seamus. He tore through the droves of goblins, massive jaws clamping around one and practically tearing the squirming creature in half.

Peter didn’t know what to make of this tournament. He wasn’t a fighter so he’d be no use in it, but would he have to fight like all the other pets? The wolf didn’t know. He’d gone out to look at the training grounds that had been set up, sat somewhere up high that he could overlook all the other pets training. Peter couldn’t tell which ones were good fighters and which ones weren’t, to him they all looked good. When he heard someone approaching from behind Peter jumped up, eyes wide as if he’d been caught doing something he shouldn’t. “I was just watching.”

With the training, and looming darkness of the Avians, it seemed that it was all anyone could talk about. Diarmid wasn't as concerned as some of the other pets and elite's. It wasn't that he didn't see the danger, it was just easier for him to accept it. So much to the point where some of his words came off as a little cold. "So quite a few pets are going to die, that's just another day being a pet." He said to the other as they were discussing the tournament, it was only moments later where he realized how he had probably sounded. With a sigh he shook his head putting a hand lightly to his own forhehead. "I'm sorry, I forget sometimes other people don't always share my views on things." He apologized to the other male, even if they weren't offfended.

❛ DEAN WAS NOT A SEASONED FIGHTER, nor had he ever had to fight for his life, but he was a survivor. he adapted and rose to every occasion, and somehow--in spite of everything--he managed to live every time he did something reckless. even as he was sorely outmatched, he fought the goblins with bare fists and anything he could pick up. he smashed their skulls in with stones, and blocked their heavy blows with the shields he picked off the ground. it was times like these that he was grateful for being half-wolf because that extra strain of strength made every punch do a bit more damage than it should. he thought he was doing pretty well until he faltered. the pain was slow to enter his body, but when it finally registered, dean turned his head and found the spearhead of a lance sticking straight out of his shoulder, the attacker likely behind him. he gasped, his hands grabbing the spearhead with a pained cry to try and pull it out of his body forward, failing to do much else but bleed out.

Noah was pissed off. Not because he was a bleeding heart who was worried about the pets - they could be replaced - but because the goblins were invading his territory. Not to mention, since they were eating anyone they could get their hands on, they were endangering his pack and that was something the wolf didn’t take lightly. Fiercely loyal to his packmates and particularly to his Alpha, he was taking delight in tearing goblins to shreds. 

Spotting a goblin pinning someone down, he leaped to action, taking the creature’s head in his jaws as he ripped it off the other - the strength of the action tearing the goblin’s head from it’s body. He didn’t care who he’d saved unless it was pack, just happy to leave a path of goblin’s destruction in his wake.

Diarmid had recovered with the thanks of Asrius and Caleb, the two witches having used their magic to heal his wounds. It seemed though his luck wasn’t going to last as an attack had begun. In the chaos he was able to get a sword and shield, along with a chest plate. He could see though how greatly they were outnumbered and he worked on getting as many pets to safety as possible. He found refuge in the forest, a long forgotten stone temple his sanctuary as he lead a small group of pets to it. The pets inside he began to head to the entrance, a few goblins having followed. He was quick to dispatch the first two, before the third came at him. With a strong bash of his shield he sent it reeling before plunging his sword through it’s skull. The last one jumped onto his back, Diarmid grunting as he pushed back against a stone pillar, knocking it off and smashing it’s skull in with his shield. His body smeared with blood and mud, he looked at the male who seemed to have watched the tail end. “A warning would have been nice ya know?” He painted as he caught his breath.

Paris had spent most of the day sitting in on political discussions or watching the various pets train. With the sun setting though he wanted to get his own training in. He always spent an hour daily training with his bow, as to stay capable. He was not going to the be the elf that couldn’t use a bow better than other species. With visibility reduced he was hunting deer in the surrounding woods. As he moved quietly through the trees he stopped in his tracks as he heard a branch snap behind him. Drawing his bow he turned around lightning quick to see the male behind him. He kept the arrow pointed right at the individual, the elf staring him down. “You know most people don’t just sneak around without a purpose.” He said to the male before lowering his bow.

Hearing about the tournament didn’t particularly interest Salem. He didn’t much care of the Avians got a seat on the council, or if they took half the pets in the tower, Salem wasn’t invested in either. But, he’d never miss an opportunity to watch blood spilled, so he wandered amongst the pet’s training, amused by the ones so clearly out of their depth or the ones so overly confident in their own abilities that they were likely to be cut down, if not by their competitors but by Salem himself. Arrogance never interested the alpha. He stopped to watch two pets spar, head tilted to one side, studying the fight. “I do hope the actual fights are more interestin’. This is all child’s play.” The alpha scoffed, unimpressed.
