Still some low self esteem? (that part about everyone being skeptical about him) Aw, nice for Myung-Soo to have good parents for once! They support his photography? Huh, both parents found their soulmates, was that before or after they got married? They are happy with the choice they made? Again showing this soulmate thing is not an absolute. Ooo, obviously, his parents recognize Ye-Sol’s name! Hm, wonder if Ye-Sol knows of the connection between their parents? Thanks!
I think it is important that no matter how good and supportive your parents are, the outside world can still tear you down. Myung-Soo heard from lots of people how he was a disappointment because he didn’t have the “mind” for law or the ambition to take over his parents’ law firm. Little things can cut deep.

Myung-soo's parents found their soulmates. How did it not work out for them? Peacefully? Regrettably? Will his mother be okay with having her soulmate as an in-law?
Spoilers! Requestable spoilers! I think it could be interesting to explore so I would like to show it rather than just tell <3
For your kdrama slump, I recommend Best Moment to Quit Your Job (on DF). It's not perfect. There were a few issues that I wished were handled differently. But it's short and centers around a group of women and their jobs.
That looks like a drama that is right up my alley! Thank you! I have no idea when I might get to it but it is definitely on my (long) list! <3

Does Young-do have a hang up with his pride? It's been mentioned twice before and so far he's managed to put it aside, to show up for her and go after her, except where it really matters. Rachel has her own assumptions of him. An apology might clear that up but it won't suffice. The root of their problems runs much deeper.
One of the things I’m playing with, that probably isn’t obvious, is that Young-Do has a few hangups from his rejection by Eun-Sang. Once he got over himself in the drama, he was incredibly vulnerable with her, and she rejected him. It was a kind rejection, and he absolutely grew from it, and it doesn’t compare to how Tan treated Rachel, but it still hurt.
Your insight on him and Rachel’s conflict is spot on. They both have made assumptions, a few a little unfair, despite being so incredibly close during this “fake” relationship. An apology is only the start.
They both need to understand what it is they stand to lose and choose the other. I am so excited to write that.

Soo-ah's got a point! If Ji-hyuk wants to gain her loyalty then he needs to take responsibility for her. I love how the women have more power in the relationships, each in different ways.
Heee that is one of my favorite things about twisting the expectation of gender roles in a heterosexual relationship--where to find the balance before tipping it in the favor of the ladies. Hyun-Soo is so very into Hye-Rim being in charge of what they do--he’s comfortable that way. But Ji-Hyuk is not prepared >.>

Getting pregnant… Hm, only hope Eun-Sang and Hyo-Shin can even get to this point. They have so much against them right now… Haha, Ji-Hyuk! Soo-Ah’s got you now! You can’t have it both ways!
Hyo-Shin might be secretly dreaming of getting to that point with his new girlfriend, but he’s still a very practical lieutenant here. Ji-Hyuk will learn a lot of lessons along that vein with Soo-Ah >.>

Myung-soo makes her feel like she's more than what people reduce her to. Is that why Ye-sol doesn't want to use his connections because she doesn't want him to get the wrong idea she couldn't get the job with her smarts alone? People are always telling her she's pretty and nothing more. How much has her mother's background affected her life and career path?
This is such a lovely insight and I really like it, so the answer is yes :D She never thought a soulmate could be like this, despite all the stories of the people around her >.>

Eun-sang did what Hyo-shin couldn't and she's not just some noble, she's the future queen! I can't wait to see his reaction when he finds out she broke off the engagement for Young-do. But it seems Young-do thought it was best to leave the relationship instead. Did Hyo-shin want him to fight and stay? How was their break up? At least this new couple is keeping their class status in mind and figuring out what they want and how far they can go.
Honestly, the biggest complication was Rachel. Because they had been engaged since they were children but they encouraged the other to have relationships outside the engagement, just to make sure there were no regrets. But Hyo-Shin and Rachel love each other very much so when it came time to get married, Young-Do wasn’t comfortable asking Hyo-Shin to give up his best friend. Hyo-Shin basically offered to make Young-Do his mistress but that’s not what Young-Do wanted either.
And it’s a bit scary that Eun-Sang is willing to throw her engagement away for Young-Do, especially since they aren’t anywhere near as close as he was with Hyo-Shin.

Ok, the information gap filled, now that Young-Do told Eun-Sang he was with Hyo-Shin, though she already found out from Rachel. Gad Young-Do is being honest with Eun-Sang about what he wants and what he thinks is possible. The queen still looms large in Young-Do’s mind, and his point is a good one. Not just the queen, but from all the other nobles and others…. There are a lot who would potentially not want them to be together.
*cackles gleefully*
Interesting how in the beginning, Eun-Sang just wanted to get Young-Do in bed, but now that he knows who she is, she seems content to take it slow? She thought he was going to be like her past ‘conquests’ and just be about sex. But now there is the potential for a real relationship that can last past one, or a few encounters. And this is new, unknown territory to navigate.
She’s going to have to learn how to do a real relationship. So she’s a little freaked out too.
Eun-Sang hasn’t made it clear what she wants? And since she is new to deeper feelings in a relationship, can see her being confused. She needs to decide what she wants, first, before this relationship can go anywhere. There are going to be obstacles if they are together, and they need to be committed to each other if a relationship will survive.
*more gleeful cackling* Because this is the fun part of writing for me :D

They better not be underestimating Soo-ah. Ji-hyuk taking responsibility of her might end up being very resourceful for her in the long run.
Oh, they are totally going to underestimate her >.>

Hah, Ji-Hyuk can’t volunteer himself more quickly! He is definitely not going to let anyone else get closer to Soo-Ah to keep tabs on her idea. He may have felt like he was in control of her life, but that is definitely not how she feels. Hm, so now that Soo-Ah knows his sense of responsibility towards her, Ji-Hyuk feels that is something she can ‘use’ to get what she wants? (not in a bad way) Will have to see how he imagines this ‘steering’ is going to work?
He is so wrong about being in control of her life. Soo-Ah is going to do what she wants and he can either help her or get out of her way >.>
amuraas replied to your post “Espionage, Youngsang, how they met”
Eun-sang genuinely likes him while Chan-young only sees him as a tool to be disposed off later. I wonder how much his approval meant to her. It doesn't sound like it was sincere.
This is a really good insight and I’m amazed by it. I’ve had a few days to think about it but I’m still formulating an answer because these two are very much ride or die for each other, they’ve had a sexual relationship in the past, and in fact, it is fair to say that before Young-Do and Bo-Na, they were the other’s only sexual partner. So it is incredibly complicated.
But I don’t think Eun-Sang looks to Chan-Young for approval and I don’t think he expects her to. I don’t think they talked about her decision to build a life with Young-Do. The president came out of no where for them both and Chan-Young assumed she was playing a game. Eun-Sang hadn’t expressed a desire for a normal life and he was confused when she had children but definitely tried to support her in emotionally caring for them because of the things that will eventually be revealed in their past.
But they are two incredibly close people who don’t necessarily communicate. They don’t think they have to. And there in lies part of the upcoming conflict :D
