I'm sorry, but Dana Terrance wrote the Owl House and decided it makes sense for Hunter's arc to pair him up with Willow? And then wrote Amity's arc and thought it made sense to pair her up with Luz?

Amwillow and Lunter would have worked so much better from a character driven standpoint.

Amity never got enough screentime to actually learn how to treat Willow with respect. We got Understanding Willow, and then a B-plot an entire season later that showed that plot thread was unresolved.

But if Amity got a crush on Willow instead of Luz? It'd force character development on both Amity and Willow's ends.

As for Lunter, the most ironic way for the Caleb plotline to end is to have history repeat itself, but this time Belos can't blame it on a Witch. Huntlow had some parallels, but having it be Luz would dial it up to 11!!!

I like to think that Amity and Willow like doing each other’s hair. Amity is always walking around with a complex french braid & when Willow wanted to dye a streak of her hair green, Amity helped with the bleaching and dyeing

This sorta reminded me of this old commission I got from Shadows P.D on Instagram (please check them out). It’s meant to be them when their still teens for an old AU idea I had where Amity ran away from home to live with the Parks, but still, I thought you’d appreciate it.

As for your questions themselves, I have a few thoughts.

1. I love seeing art of Willow and Amity’s old friendship. I admit it’s rare, but when people do draw it it’s usually pretty sickly sweet and adorable.

2. Honestly I like to think Amity had a pretty good relationship with Willow’s parents, and they sorta served as a good set of role models for Amity when she was younger. That’s actually a part of the reason her parents made Amity leave Willow actually; because they knew Willow’s parents were making Amity realize just how controlling they really were.

When Amity and Willow actually patched things up enough for Amity to visit Willow in her home, Amity was actually scared of seeing them again because she suspected they would hate her. And it’s true both parents weren’t entirely sure how to feel about Amity at first. But after seeing that she truly was trying to become a better friend for Willow, they accepted Amity back with open arms.
