My 90 year old grandma doesn't understand about different sexualities, so I just let her think I'm perpetually single. I was showing her a video on my phone, and my background is Chris Evans. "Oh who's that?" My boyfriend, I answered jokingly, but she believed me, so I rolled with it. "Is he in university with you?" Oh no, he's actually an actor. "How long have you been together?" (when did Captain America come out...?) Just about four years. "He's so handsome!" He sure is, Grandma. He sure is.

Y'know, it really is. She probably wasn't the healthiest person for me to talk to as a kid, but that's how it shook out so she's used to hearing me rant about literally everything under the sun. She's not shitty, uh, exactly, ...just... well...dense. And also sometimes shitty, but not today.

YUP. But no worse than usual. Although. Somehow. She still said that people going against traditional gender roles shouldn't be encouraged, but was weirdly calm about me saying that I feel more comfortable in menswear? IDK, man, she's all over the place.
She said a world without gender roles would be like a world with no color. I'm sure my ugly laughter could be heard halfway across the state.
