Someone should have warned her that when you play with fire, all you’re ever gonna get is burned (at the stake). Life for Brooke could not get any worse or any more complicated. Well, it could but, she was sincerely hoping it wouldn’t. For the past two days, Brooke cut herself off from the world. From her friends, her hobbies, everything. She just wanted some time to wallow in her self pity and despair before she got back up on her wobbly feet. It was a Monday, after 3pm which meant school was let out. Brooke didn’t attend because she couldn’t bear to face the music just yet. She had a feeling everyone was already talking about her. Jake probably told the whole school she was a lying, cheating, slut by now. He hated her and he had every reason to and yet it still hurt. Brooke wasn’t even sure how to cope but she was trying. A green juice spiked with some of her mother’s infamous poison was sitting out on the table in front of her. Brooke decided she’d skip on all the more popular places to dine. Like Pop’s diner and the Grindhouse. This way she’d be less likely to run into someone she knew.
“No thanks, I’m not hungry,” Brooke chirped. She didn’t bother to look up and see that the person hovering wasn’t her waiter but the sheriff’s son, Stavo. The last time Brooke spoke to him, their conversation didn’t leave or really start off on the best note. Hence, why she was even more aggravated and not in the mood to deal or attempt a modicum of friendliness. Though, she should have tried because this same time tomorrow, she’d realize she had no other friends. “Oh, it’s just you.” There was some disdain and bitterness to her tone of voice and in her passive, bitchy smile. “Can I help you?? Or are you just going to stand there and creep like you always do? At which point, don’t. Because I’m really not in the mood.”
