To recap!

Lottery numbers are being sent out until March 11.

If you do not receive a lottery number by 5PM ET March 12, contact ANCMarket staff ASASP.

Lottery results will be posted on the  Anime North Message Boards March 12 at 8PM ET.

All outstanding applications must be cleared tonight at 12AM. For fairness to other applicants. This means, if ANCMarket staff needed clarification on your application and emailed you, you must reply by 12AM ET. 

Good luck to everyone that’s made it this far! Fingers crossed for the lucky individuals that get into the lottery. Remember, even if your application was rejected you can still apply to be a secondary artist to someone else’s table after results are posted. 

Note: Don’t forget, you can only be on ONE list/section at a time. This means you cannot apply for ProPlaza if you’re in the Comic Market or the Comic Market waiting list. You cannot be in the Comic Market if you have a table in the Dealers room. And you cannot sell in the Dealers room if you have a Crafters table. Or any variation of the above.

Comic Market Applications are a Go! You have till 8AM ET tomorrow morning to submit your application. We’ve done all we can, now it’s up to you. The first step to selling at Anime North is getting your application right! Good luck to everyone and keep an eye on your emails!

And th-th-th-that’s all folks! Comic Market Applications for 2017 are now closed! Thank you to everyone who applied. Make sure you’re checking your emails (the email you applied with!) to see if ANCMarket staff need anymore information. 

Now that application night is done, what comes next? 

The dreaded lottery.

Lottery numbers will start being assigned the afternoon of Thursday, March 9, 2017 to Saturday, March 11, 2017. If you do not receive a lottery number by 5:00 PM ET of March 12, 2017, contact Comic Market Staff immediately!

It’s that time of the year again, time to start getting ready for AN2017! Make sure to look over our updated policy so you know what to expect for ANCMarket 2017. 

We’re excited for another great year and hope to keep posting helpful tips to make everything as easy as possible.

ProTip: Art Samples Doneness

Much like meat, art has different levels of doneness. You got your rare, medium, well-done, and make it rain garnish because this thing is hitting the table, son. And in the same way doneness plays a part in ordering meat at a restaurant, doneness is also incredibly important when filling out your ANCMarket application.

NUMBER FOUR in the application requirements is: 

Provide links to 2 similar and finished (works that are ready for sale) art samples along with their lottery ticket request.

Post about having similar art styles here. 

So what do we mean by finished and ready for sale? Well, same with ordering that meat, we want to see your artwork ready to hit the table with garnish. Some people might want your line art or blocking, but we want your well-done, finished product you’d be proud to have on your table during AN.

For example (thanks YamiJay!):

You could sell the one on the right but not the one on the left.

Uncolored is fine if you plan on selling your work that way (same with stylistic designs), just remember you have to submit something you’d be willing to sell in its final evolution. Don’t try and send us Charmander telling us it’s Charizard.

Remember, we ordered that well done steak. If it’s rare (and incomplete) when it hits our table, we’re going to a different restaurant.

It was a long process from the beginning from the time registration open, the applications, the lottery results, all the official forms, preparing you guys and ourselves for this year and we couldn’t have done it without you all.

You guys made it full of unique moments, new experiences and taking something we all know and love and putting your personal spins on it. 

So thank you again for taking part in the past amazing weekend and hope to see you all next year!!!! ♥♥♥

Keep an eye on the temperature, drink LOTS of water, don’t forget to eat and have the best freaking weekend!

ProTip: Setup

Listen up artists, we need to have a talk. It’s been a long time coming and it’s time. You’re ready. 

It’s time to talk about setup day.

Tables may ONLY be set up by the primary artist and his/her helper/secondary artist.

You may not bring in non-artists (i.e. anyone without an artist badge) to help you set up.

If you need help, let us know! That’s what we’re here for!

Flag one of the volunteers designated by Comic Market Staff and we will gladly assist in your setup.

Don’t follow our simple rules and if we have to have a chat about this (seriously, we’d rather not) then that’s a big No-No in our Death Note aka record. It’s a record, we keep that stuff on file and may use it against you (no court of law...yet).
