I just. Cloud loves Tifa SO much. He fuckin did an entire DANCE ROUTINE in front of an audience including this new girl he met not long ago and he just is not having it but then he’s like IT’S FOR TIFA and homeboy sipped his Loving Tifa Juice and fuckin DID IT. I don’t blame him. I would have done the same thing. (I have always been into both ships tho!! so he can love her romantically and/or platonically and both iterations of such a bond have their own merits and are just as valid!!)
