➤ The Rakkor are trained to be deadly efficient with a variety of weaponry . Swords, hammers, spears, axes, and rigorous hand-to-hand and wrestling training is part of the daily regiment that Rakkor warriors undergo . Though they are taught to be effective with most weapons, their most iconic weapons are the spear, short-sword, and the shield .
It’s common for spear-wielding Rakkor to bear a short-sword at their hip . The blades vary from straight to a slight curve to be effective in both stabbing and slashing, but they aren’t used in open combat too often . These short-swords are most often utilized to stab enemies through the gaps in the Rakkor shield wall . Disciplined Rakkor with their feet planted and shields raised form an impenetrable barrier, then the warriors lined up behind the front wall can use their swords in close quarters to thrust between the open gaps .
Spears are most often used in open combat as well as an effective shield-wall thruster . The blade of the spear is just as effective as the shaft and butt . Experienced Rakkor can stab, cleave, and skewer with the blade while simultaneously using the shaft as a quarterstaff to create space around them and disable their enemies .
Lastly, the shield itself is a tool of both offense and defense . Rakkor shields are circular and made of a heavy and dense metal, but the actual design of the shield is more disc-like in its thickness rather than incredibly bulky . The lip of a shield can be thrust forward at an opponent's block, or used to hook at an enemies throat (or crushed downward to sever their neck entirely .
Longswords (Such as Leona’s), are more often used amongst the Ra-Horak, the elite templar knights of the Solari . Bows are very rarely used in combat by the Rakkor, they’re seen as more of a hunting weapon . Though, there’s a bow called simply a ‘Great bow’, which is the size of a grown man itself . It has to be fired while standing completely still, steady, and it fires an arrow that can shatter stone and pierce even metal .
