But I think before you both kissed and realized that you both like each other in the same way he never woke you up when he had a nightmare. He’s used to dealing with his issues alone and even with you there he still burdens himself with it because he doesn’t want to dump his heavy stuff onto you (even if you offer)
Now though…he might wake you up. He’s still learning that it’s okay to initiate and ask you for help so it’ll probably go down like this:
Simon gently shaking you awake: I had a nightmare.
Reader who is half asleep still: are you okay?
Simon, not looking at you: yeah.
There’s a period of silence between you two since Simon can’t let himself ask you to sleep with you before you scoot over and tug him to get into bed.
Reader: cuddle with me
And then Simon is immediately in your bed, wrapping his arms around you and pulling into his chest. It’ll take him a while but he’ll get there
