I am loved.
I have a great support system.
I am surrounded by co-workers I like and work well with.
But I am touch starved.
It's moments like these that make me realize the complexity of human interaction. I find myself wanting human connection, looking fondly at it, and wishing for a hug. A touch. A tickle. Hands through hair, or just closeness on a couch. I miss snuggling with my wife or my youngest crawling into my lap. I even miss my dog forgetting she's not a lap dog or my cats chasing demons across the bed at 2 a.m.
We need human connection, and the physical is just as important as the rest.
