I woke up yesterday (as you’re reading this), and today (as I’m writing it, and realized:

This is my 25th anniversary of living in this house.

I’d signed the mortgage contract on Leap Year Day, 1996, spent the next several months going back and forth between here and my family home, getting this place ready to live in, and moved in permanently on 30 September, 1996.

So 1 October, 1996 was my first full day living here.

So why doesn’t it feel like home?
