A Ray of Sunshine In Between The Rain . . . Despite the treacherous conditions today shone bright for the @racingteamdmt here in Cordoba, with the 6th and final stage of the @andaluciabikerace getting underway with a shortened course (35km instead of 65km). . Although Portugal’s @tiago0ferreira didn’t win today’s stage he did lead the overall GC from start to finish and along with the combined effort of @jose_dias31 @hansbecking and @naima.madlen the team took the overall UCI team honors too. . . @naima.madlen went full gas from start to finish, luckily not having any mechanicals she kept on the tail of race leader @hghovdenak .. the last 10km downhill was touch and go, with Spain’s @sandrasantanyes ultimately taking 2nd on the stage with Naima finishing 3rd and American @chloewoodruff dropping some time to finish 4th ..... That left Naima to claim 2nd overall on the GC over 5 days of tough MTB racing here in Andalucía . . Absolutely superb impressive efforts from all riders in the special weather conditions. . Check @looneysonya Story : 100% chance of rain means 100% chance for adventure! Stage 4 of #andaluciabikerace was awesome! The entire 60km (they shortened the queen stage down from 90km) was a river with peanut butter mud! I don’t know why but I love it when things get hard. I actually think I would have had less fun if it was dry! It was so fun going “full send” on all the tech descents. My set up is phenomenal- @bikeonscott Contessa Spark 900, dropper post, and @maxxistires Ikon 2.35s that grip onto anything. So impressed with these tires and now I’ve tested them in ALL conditions! Good news too- at the two hour mark today, it was like a switch turned on and my body actually started working! It was like I could go twice the speed. I don’t know why now or what it’s from, but I loved getting to race like myself for the last hour and change of the race today. Finally! It felt good. I hope I have the same legs for tomorrow.
