Anders Hejlsberg - C# designer, famous dude

Microsoft Technical Fellow and programming language designer extraordinaire, Anders Hejlsberg, joins us on set to discuss and take questions from a live virtual audience topics like TypeScript, C#, Roslyn, and more. Kudos to Anders for sticking around to discuss what he and team are up to for C# (it's an evolving language....) and Roslyn (compiler as a service project). We never seem to have enough time with Anders. Thanks to all of you for the excellent questions. We tried to get to all of them, but that's hard to do without forcing the expert on set to only spend 30 seconds per answer (we won't do that...). Tune in.

As a programmer, I'm a fan of Pascal

Call me old fashioned - I'm o.k with that

But I love the beauty of Pascal. It is so easily readable, it is so easily understandable. Even today I use FreePascal for many small difficulties, I'm encountering. And I know for sure that Pascal is suitable for big projects - until Windows 95 my Father wrote accounting-software with it which is used by some customers until today (on an old 386-SX). Why should they switch to Windows, if it works? Do they have any need?

Just because something is old, doesn't mean to throw it away...

I think Nikolaus Wirth and Anders Hejlsberg are one of the most underrated people in information technology today.

This fickle-minded, restless lad interviewing Anders is obviously too distracted. He has his mind everywhere else about except at his job. So obsessed with himself to not listen to a single word of Anders, or to try to make meaning of it, he constantly poses for the camera, looks away from Anders and is evidently trying to convey his distraction because of the clanging of the crockery and silverware around them. He pauses at all the wrong places, cuts Anders off between his sentences and goes through his laundry list of questions, you can tell, without any regard to what the answers are. Even sensing his nerves and apparent disrespect, Anders generously gives him his full attention and offers detailed answers.
