Saw this, this morning. I know nowadays it’s not cool to be proud to be anything. But I am proud to be Canadian. As a Canadian I acknowledge that some of our ancestors did some horrible things. Things that can never be undone or made right. But I also know as a Canadian that for the most part we all love and respect each other. We must acknowledge the things that happened in the past but together we can improve all our futures. There are heroes and assholes in every race, religion, culture and political belief. The beautiful thing about being a Canadian is that we can recognize that individual person‘s position in life and it does not have to paint the rest with that brush. I know for at least myself I judge each person I meet based on their actions and nothing more. Together we can continue to be a tapestry of cultures.
