@carelessgraces : 💝 sahar !!! thora !!!
SEND 💝 + ONE OF MY MUSES AND I’LL TALK ABOUT SOME OF MY FAVORITE SHIPS FOR THEM AND/OR SHIPS I’D BE INTERESTED IN WRITING!
SAHAR + CULLEN (but only during DAI). sort of the polar opposite to margo here lmao. sahar has the benefit of an outsider’s perspective on ferelden and those within it ; she very clearly sees the flaws within the system and while she dismisses that which does not serve her, she also has a greater capability for forgiveness and compassion. especially once/if she were to learn about his lyrium addiction -- that only further convinces her that the chantry is deeply flawed and horrible to not only mages but its templars as well. i think she would have liked to see the change in cullen’s perspective over time, but sahar is willing to not hold someone’s past against them if their efforts in the present seem sincere -- even if they fail sometimes, the point would be that they are trying.
i ... actually don’t have any other favorite ships for her ! i think putting her in a room with qunari characters is fascinating because of the cultural exchange between the qunari people and her people, but it would sort of come down to the individual there. sahar has a different take on qunari than most southerners, but she still strongly disagrees with the qun and while she will of course show civility and respect, i think she might struggle to embrace the qun as part of a romantic partner’s life the same way she would struggle to embrace the chantry as part of a romantic partner’s life, due to the treatment of mages like herself.
in general, sahar appreciates people who show wisdom and compassion, who conduct themselves with honor and integrity to all, and who behave in a way that is worthy of themselves and worthy of others. she also appreciates intelligence and curiosity, and a willingness to see beyond oneself. the main caveat with shipping with her is that she will not stay in the south, so whoever is romancing her must be willing to relocate to beit nefesh.
THORA. ( @andrastespromise asked this too ! )
THORA + SERA. thora ... is unique. in the beginning especially, she’s very casual about her relationships in general and is not someone who gets attached. she knows that non-dwarves will see the carta as just another criminal organization, or, as cassandra put it -- the “dwarven past time.” to her, that view is extremely ignorant, but she’s also sort of “whatever” about the opinions of basically anyone who isn’t a surface dwarf or casteless when it comes to the carta, because they’re the only ones who really understand what’s going on ( so she really likes varric quite a lot, because he gets it. ) at the same time, she can’t be bothered to sit there and explain it, so she just lets people be wrong. it doesn’t depress her or make her feel badly, don’t misunderstand -- but she just can’t be fucked about fixing people’s wrongness.
what thora likes about sera is that she’s uncomplicated and there’s no guesswork with her. sera will tell you how she feels and what she thinks. and while it takes a minute for thora to get used to her speech patterns, once she does, she begins to see that she and sera agree on ... quite a lot. she finds the bluntness refreshing, because thora’s absolutely got that dwarven bluntness and “I’m not here to make you feel special”. sera is much the same way and it’s a breath of fresh air. on top it, sera is fun as hell. thora doesn’t believe in the maker, she doesn’t believe she’s andraste’s chosen, she doesn’t even really believe in the inquisition at first but she’s kind of got no choice but to go along with it. it’s a lot of pressure and she doesn’t love it. sera provides an outlet to just be herself and think about other things. ( or not think ;) ) she also likes that sera is not caught up in the past nor overly focused on the future ; sera lives fully in the moment and thora LOVES that !!!! and especially once you get to know and understand sera better, thora starts to catch the twitch of feelings and it actually grows from there. gross. mushy. disgusting. but it happens and it’s strong. also ? she likes that sera is SO blunt about being attracted to her and flirts with her constantly. even if it’s a little “frat boy”, it’s okay because thora is also a little “frat boy” LMAO.
OTHERWISE, i think thora would get an absolute kick out of dagna and probably lace harding as well. thora likes people with passion and energy and a good sense of humor, who don’t take things too seriously, or who can at least realize when they’re doing it.
