Gerard Butler in Timeline (2003), a very self-indulgent post because look at this guy! Long hair, beard, medieval clothes, romantic hero, archaeologist. He feels like a fantasy come true 🤩
The character of Andre Marek was really the highlight of the film for me. And Gerry did a splendid job - of course that man has off-the-charts charisma, but this role suited him perfectly. And the scenes with Lady Claire omggg, there should have been more of them! These two had more chemistry than the rest of the cast altogether.
And ultimately I loved how the main plot of the whole movie was Andre Marek finding the love of his life in the past and staying there with her.
This film has many flaws but Gerry’s part isn’t one of them ❤️

(You’re welcome 👀🔥)
He might not know what a shirt is
In 1999, anachronistic things were found at some ruins in France, including a lense from a pair of modern glasses and a note written in modern English claiming to be from Professor Edward Johnston. It was learned that a company called ITC used technology to send Professor Johnston back to France to the year 1357. A team of researchers went back in time to look for him. (Timeline, Bk)
I want a relationship like theirs. Beautiful.

Also, if you haven’t watched Timeline or read the book, I recommend it. The music, the scenes, and the cast and characters are amazing.
One of my favorite movies growing up.
@andre-marek
He’d missed a class thanks to oversleeping, and instead of emailing the homework like anybody else would’ve done, a classmate gave Damien their USB stick, as if he knew what to do with it. He brought it to the library but all the attendants were busy. He stared down at it, befuddled. Finally he approached a young man and asked, “Hey, do you think you could help me with this? I’m afraid I don’t know what a UBS is.” He was too proud of his nonchalance around a stranger to feel embarrassment about his lack of knowledge. It probably would’ve been easier to google it, but since he got the name mixed up, all that came up was banking information.
Kate: There’s one thing worse than dying here, and that’s living here. I refuse to do either.
Marek:
I’ve been reading the Timeline novel and it’s so amusing to me that Michael Critchon insists on describing André Marek as a giant nerd who is also built. Like very muscular. Just a massive dude. Did I mention he’s muscular? Because he is in case you forgot.
