To the public of Stormwind, it was unknown that their King had a darling; this secret now fully revealed for many eyes to see. Andiun sits you down at one of the tables in the corner, hoping to avoid prying eyes and listening ears as he tells you about his most recent adventure. Soon, your drinks are brought to your table, the King himself settling for one of the most popular brews the Dwarfs of Ironforge have created. You on the other hand, settle for a glass of elven wine instead. As you pour yourself a sip, Andiun pulls you closer to whisper to you with his eyes full of passion "let me show you what I've missed." A slight nod is all he needed before his strong hands started kneading your fingers, gently massaging your knuckles, then the inside of your palm. Andiun hesitates for a moment, seemingly deep in thought as he suddenly speaks:

"My dear, I wish to show you something. However, privacy would be more suitable than a full bar of drunk dwarfes and humans* He chuckles lightheartedly, gently rubbing his thumb over your hand. You had an idea of what he meant, but weren't entirely sure of his intentions. Regardless, the two of you sneak away to one of the upstairs rooms. The wooden door closes, and Anduin gently cradles you in his arms, slowly but surely moving you over to the bed. You didn't realise until you stumble backwards into the soft mattress. With a subtle smirk, King anduin carefully makes his way onto your body, his hands resting in your waist as his lips trace your neck.

After spending a few moments lost in each others' embrace, his mouth follows the curve of your shoulder down to your collarbone, he kisses ever so lightly up the center of your chest. Anduin Wrynn x Artist S/O

When you are the king of the Alliance, there is no way to just walk around the city, and it is extremely dangerous. Anduin, although it seems somewhat naive that in principle this is partly true, due to his rather young age, nevertheless, cannot be isolated from society. One way or another, he also wants to communicate with his peers, the huge responsibility placed on his shoulders really suffocates and hangs like a permanent stone on his soul.

One day he just felt a sharp need to forget himself at least for the night and take a break after countless work and a constant sense of danger hanging behind his back. Therefore, young Wrynn, aware of all the dangers and risks, nevertheless escaped from the castle at dusk. Of course, he didn't forget to disguise himself! So this time – no heavy armor and nothing that could attract the eye to him, he took only an ordinary sword from the weapon with him. Is he insane? Perhaps.

And what about s/o? You are just an ordinary resident of Stormwind, although you also have a hard time, at least because you need to earn something for a living, and for an Adventurer you were not strong enough or simply not motivated enough to rush through the fire into danger and eternal wandering. So you decided to devote yourself to art!

And so, having walked almost through the whole city to the stairs leading to the port, you, who were sitting on a high enough point with a good view, already put up an easel and began to arrange paints, brushes, a jar of water and other things for drawing to capture the beautiful moon and majestic ships. You loved painting terribly, because you believed that you would preserve such beauty forever, putting your soul and love into it so that others could always enjoy it. You moved a couple of meters away from your seat to pick up another bag, which was kindly held for you by a guard who agreed to help. 'm glad you didn't decide to take my things. You can join me if you want, although I usually paint alone"

Actually, it was your first acquaintance! Anduin was pleasantly surprised by how beautifully you draw in his opinion. He could see with what diligence and love you approach your work, and was fascinated not so much by the landscape as by your actions. And although he was the king of Stormwind, this does not mean that he has already ceased to be just a boy, so basically he just stood a meter away from you, hands folded behind his back and silently watching, so as not to disturb your creative impulse. You were the first one who started talking to him, and he was happy to support your conversation! You turned out to be quite an ordinary person, although something either in your character, or in your desire to "preserve the beauties of the world" still hooked him, interested him. You communicated with him easily and naturally, not even suspecting who was standing next to you, and it was like a breath of fresh air for Anduin.

On the other hand, you found him very cute! You were so engrossed in talking and drawing that you didn't ask his name, but you told him yours. In the company you drew more comfortable and more fun, there was a pleasant friendly atmosphere. And although you didn't consider yourself a psychologist, you carefully pulled some information out of the guy, learning that there was something that was gnawing at him, not allowing him to relax under heavy pressure. Being by nature a calm and kind person, you expressed words of support to him, but decided not to focus on this, continuing a light conversation about art. You even shared with him the dream of traveling the world in order to continue to leave pieces of your soul in the works of the world that you loved so much despite the wars and other horrors lurking deep in Azeroth.

When the drawing was almost finished, and the moon was about to hide behind the horizon, you were already packing your things to go home, when Anduin politely offered to help you move the easel and some things. Of course, you were embarrassed by such a display of attention, but you did not refuse help, although you tried to insist that you could carry it all yourself, but in the end you walked carrying a light bag on your shoulder.

Wrynn had a great time with you, and to be honest, he wanted to meet you again, but he had to come back. Before he left, he promised that he would meet you again and set a meeting place. The young king returned to his chambers before his absence was noticed, he was not even confused by the lack of sleep, because all the next day he was in an upbeat, inspired mood, wanting to finish his business as soon as possible and meet you again.

Author’s note : Like I said in another post, thank you so much for an Anduin request. Shadowlands is an emotional roller coster for him, I just - Argh. Anyway, this came out a bit angstier than intended. I might do another one in another setting (like with a champion or priest S/O). This is set at the beginning of Legion. So Anduin is (if no changes) technically around 18-19 yo. And because I want to hurt myself, this takes place two nights before King Varian goes to the Broken Shore. I still tried to put some cute elements in there, but I dunno, putting my mains in taverns always made me melancolic and longing for a calmer life for them. Okay I’m done rambling sorry, enjoy.

Night had finally covered the buzzing city of Stormwind. Its tall white stoned buildings casted large shadows in the moonlight. A wonderful perk for those in need of hiding. The fair citizens of the Alliance light up their candles in the foyer, emptying the streets. Only the guards and the drunks treaded the pavement. The stars shone bright, the moon kissing the sea near the lighthouse of the bay; the bell of the Cathedral rang the eleventh hour of the night.

In the Royal Dungeon, a silhouette lurked in the corridors. Its soft cloak flew with each stealthy step. Avoiding every guard, it went before the king quarters, stopping in its track in the corner of the corridors. Seemingly met with silence, it backed away near a curtain to disappear behind. A guard passed by, clueless.

The Whistling Pig tavern was strangely calm. Around two weeks ago, King Varian Wrynn had announced mass mobilisation of the army to fight off the returning Burning Legion on the Broken shore. The first week after the news, most clients were blacksmiths and stable boys, anyone preparing weapons and means of transport. After that came the lower rank officers and soldiers, drinking one last beer before saying goodbye. And it should’ve lasted until at least the night before departure. Yet somehow, the tavern was nearly empty two days before the departure.

It was nice, though, having a breather. Soon the wives, girlfriends and new widows would flood in. So as (Y/N)’s favourite shadow walked in to sit by the fireplace, her heart grew out of her chest. No one being in dire need of her help, she tiptoed to the silhouette, and whispered.

"Good evening Anduin."

One of her hands massaged the Lion Cub's right shoulder, as she kissed his left cheek.

"Hello, love."

The young prince dragged her gently on his lap. (Y/N) nuzzled her nose between his neck and his cloak. Her fingers traced his jaw, moving around his neck, only to settle in hair. His cheek pressed against her temple, breathing in. One of his hands rounded her hip, as the other caressed her shoulder. Their respective scents invaded their minds. They both exhaled softly. The fire softened their shadows, all the while warming their skins.

"I've missed you."

She put her head up, kissing his neck, jaw and cheek in the process. He captured her cheek, looking deeply in her eyes. His irises wore a tinge of sadness but mostly gratitude. (Y/N) rubbed her nose against his, making him giggle. Her right hand still in his neck, the same idea popped in their minds : slowly pulling each other, they kissed, chastly at first. Pulling apart, she admired the soft face of her secret lover being painted by the fire light.

"I'm scared." (Y/N) admitted.

His hand on her cheek went under her right thigh to bring her closer. Their forehead touched, but they never broke eye contact.

"I am not going anywhere."

Anduin kissed her fervently, a single tear rolling down his skin. It wet her a little, making her pull away. Her thumb sweeped it. His breath was shaky, his hands grabbing her just a bit tighter. She soothed him, kissing his cheeks, rubbing the base of his neck, as he silently sobs. The fire roared softly, filling the air. From the corner of her eye, she saw a customer giving them a sympathetic look. (Y/N) nodded, silently thanking them for the peace.

The tavern was nearly deserted now : her boss snoring on a chair near the kitchen fireplace, a client fast asleep on the counter, a lonely old woman finishing her dinner on a table… The senior noticed the sobs. Approaching quietly, she handed (Y/N) a clean handkerchief she sewed. With a warm smile illuminated by the fire, she bid her farewell, leaving the waitress with her weeping prince.

The Lion Cub took a few minutes to calm down, blowing his nose out every now and then. (Y/N) got up, fetching him a glass of water. He giggled at the silly sight of a huge tankard containing his beverage. His lover had the biggest grin on her face.

"That is quite the glass you got."

She sat on his lap again. A kiss later, she used the handkerchief to wipe his tears.

"A big glass for a big man."

He huffed jokingly before drinking a bit. Noticing no one was around, (Y/N) slowly took off his hood, revealing his long free blond locks. He side-eyed her a bit, but her smile reassured him. Putting the tankard away, the prince held her tighter than ever, planting kisses on her jaw and behind her ear.

"I am scared too. But I know Father will be alright. And as long as you are by my side, nothing can stop me."

A log cracked under the fire warmth. (Y/N) teared up. Taking his chin in her fingers, their lips met again, desperate but not hungry. It was taking in the other; the warmth, the tenderness, the caring side, the affection. Anduin sometimes cursed life to have him born in royalty, and not by (Y/N)’s side. He could have cherished her, wedded her, perhaps even become the father of their angels… but right here, with her close and offering her heart to him, he forgot his frustration and took her in. She was his reality anchor.

(Y/N) moved her hands to his cheeks, caressing them with her thumbs. They pulled away, drowning in each other in the magnificent fire light. To say she nearly didn't get the job… yes, she too fantasised to have been born somewhere else. But then, the thought of not being noticed by him in the royal court frightened her.

Thanking the Light, with all of her soul, that he came one night disguised to blend in with his people.

Thanking herself for taking the first step towards him, only to be met halfway by the eager young man.

hi i saw requests were open so i started rubbing my hands and did that tom hanks computer gif lmao... so could i get mmm, maybe a scenario with anduin and an s/o he's known since they were kids? im about the same age as him and i started playing when i was like 7 so i feel like i grew up with him! headcanons are fine too, if you prefer :)

I combined this one with another request for Anduin with a commoner in the form of a slice of life. I thought they fit lovely together so I hope you both don’t mind that I did this. Let me know though! :) Perhaps the length will make up for it.

Anduin x Commoner! Reader:

- Varian had never been afraid to let his son socialize with the "lower class". He may have been protective, sure, but trusted his son... Varian also knew their parents.

- So, Anduin and Reader met each other rather young. He was eight and they were seven. Just young enough to gush over the fact kids were playing together, regardless of status. Anduin liked to patch up his new friend whenever they got hurt. (Which roughly translates into using bandaids on everything from a scrape to cut to scratch)

- They mostly played hide and seek together, seeing as Anduin didn't like to roughhouse and was told to be gentle with his friend.

- Then, they both got older. They had to help their family make money and get food, while Anduin was given more and more responsibility as the prince. It sucked that the time spent together became few and far between but it still managed to work out perfectly fine.

- Anduin would "sneak" out of the keep to spend some time in the world below. He had no problem helping them carry around baskets of food as they shopped or getting them out of working for an hour or so. He needed to destress. They just needed some form of socialization other than working their butt off.

- Many of the Stormwind locals thought it was sweet that Prince Anduin was so down to earth

- As teens and young adults, though, reality really started to hit. They were both expected to act in a specific way. Things weren't as simple as two children running around anymore.

- They had grown up to be a (preferred profession), which allowed them a bit more access to the Keep. Which doesn't mean that they were around each other constantly, but brief waves and a cheery "Good afternoon" was definitely better than nothing at all. It also meant they were able to have smaller meetups. Just to discuss how things were and how they were feeling.

- Varian warned his son about upholding appearances but never actually disapproved. Who was he to dictate his son's friends? Especially one that had Anduin had fought so hard to keep around. Their parents felt the same.

- Everyone in the Keep saw the fact they were growing more romantically attached by the day. It was grossly obvious to everyone but themselves. The denial was strong with these two. They hardly noticed the hugs lasting just a little longer, the small smiles of adoration, the way they both were excited over any possibility to see one another.

- It was such a sweet, novel worthy experience that it's a wonder they both don't have cavities

Now it was February and it was time for the "Love is in the air" feast. You wasn't a hero, a champion or an adventurer. You was just a maid for the family Wrynn, but you never could complain about it. "And did someone caught your eye?" you friend and co-worker Angela asked. "Haha, I didn't have time for this." you just meant. "Yeah because you are just dreaming about Prince Anduin, that he finally confesses his love to you, am I right?" she laughed. "Please can the light just burn you?" you said not laughing but knowing your friend is right. Although you was a maid and especially one of Anduins, he was always so loving to you. And you both knew you since you two were small children. "I mean, he is a prince and you are a maid, don't you think that this is a bit hopeless?" Angela asked you and sat down to you. "Is it forbidden to find someone handsome?" you simply said already annoyed. "No but you seem like you would wait for him, although you know that he is not coming." she told you how she saw this situation. "By the light, I am not waiting for anyone ok. It is not like I wouldn't knew that he is a prince and I am a servant and that we never will be a couple..." you told her and your voice was going from calm explaining to a upset and loud tune. The truth is, when you and Anduin were really young teenagers there was always a thing between you two, at least this is what you thought. And yeah in some way you was hoping that he maybe would remember this and would fall in love with you. "I am going to take the laundry." you said dry and took the basket with it. You walked straight to Anduins chambers. You knew he wasn't in there, because the council was now in the war room. On the table was a mountain of lovely greetings cards, probably from every citizen girl in Stormwind. And some presents stand there too. You just sighted and began to put the laundry together. After this it was time to clean the room. The task was to clean the floor, so you sat on your knees and scrubbed. "How I love hard work...not." you whispered to yourself and suddenly the door swung open. It was Anduin who came back earlier. "Careful the bucket!" you said warning because it stands in the near of the door. "Wow, this was close." he smiled. "Why aren't you by the feast down there?" he asked. "Because I have work, your highness." you answered. "Oh come on, nearly every other servant is allowed to go." he meant and wondered. "I don't know, maybe this is not my day." you meant and stood up from the ground. "It is a beautiful day you should enjoy it." he said and came to you. "I mean I am doing good, everything is done." he made sure and had a pure smile on his face. "But I am enjoying my day." you began to protest but smiled back to him. "Scrubbing the floor is enjoying?" he asked doubting. "You know what I mean ok." was your answer and stepped to your bucket. "And did you read all those cards?" you asked then interesting. "No, not yet. I was surprised that it are so much." he said and sat down on his chair. "Do you even want some cards? I mean do you wait for some especially?" you finally asked and hoped that it would not be too obvious. "Who doesn't like compliments, so yeah I like to get some cards." he meant but stand up again. "Yeah who doesn't like compliments." you whispered more to yourself. And turned around but Anduin stand now in front of you. "And people like you deserve them too. I really love the smile you have when you try to wake me up every morning, (Y/N)." Anduin spoke lovely. You began to blush and looked down, because you didn't know how to react. "Uhm...uhm thank you, your grace. I am just..just surprised." you said. "This is just the truth." he meant lovely. In your inner self you was so escalating and happy at the same time. "Ok I am done here, your grace. I-I am going now." you said unsure and careful looked up in the hope you are not too red. "Than have a great day, (Y/N)." he smiled and you turned to go to the door. But before you could left he said:"And yeah I am waiting for a card from someone special." You was insecure if this was a sign that he meant you or just a lovely gesture from a prince. "I need to talk to Angela." you made the decision. Back in the servants room you searched for her but couldn't find your friend. So you asked another where she could be. And it turned out that she went to the feast. You rolled your eyes but went the way to the Trade District. Everything was decorated in red and pink and all the people seemed to be in a good mood. "And do the lady want some perfume samples?" some trader asks but you was too busy to find Angela and ignored it. "Here some Buttermilk Delight for you." a man probably a warrior said. "No thanks." you just meant and wanted to go further. "Not even a little one?" he asked. "No, by the light I am searching someone." you told and was more upset now. "Although you not even want to share my buttermilk delight and can't enjoy the feast, maybe I can help you?" he suggested. So you stopped walking. "I am looking for a girl, her name is Angela, she is wearing the same dress like me, she looks a bit older than 23 and has brown hair, and is really skinny." you described her. "Ohh I saw her a maybe 10 minutes ago....she met a guy probably she has a date...what a lucky girl." he meant. And now you could figure out where she was. The guy that was a monk probably bought it. "Angela!" you shouted. She turned around just to turn back and looked embarrassed. "Light be with you, I just need her for a moment." you greeted the monk and took her arm to pull her away. "Are you serious? Now...really now when I am out with a man..." she raged in a loud whisper tune. "I wouldn't be here when it wouldn't be important ok. I need an advise." you confronted her and bite your lip. She rolled her eye but said in a normal tune:"Come on spit it out." "Ok when I cleaned Anduins chambers, we talked a bit and he made a really cute compliment about me, and than, he just said he wait for a card from someone special and winked at me....And I am serious I didn't imagine this." you talked fast and was excited what her advise could be. "Ok wow, I didn't expected something like this." she answered. "What did you two talk that he said this?" she asked then interested. "Anduin has a huge mountain of lovely greeting cards on his desk and I asked him if he would wait to get a card from someone special. At first he didn't gave an answer but when I wanted to get out he just said it and winked...he just winked Angela. What should I do now?" you explained and was like a an inexperienced teenager although this was not the case anymore but Anduin was your crush. "I don't know but maybe you should just gave him a card I mean he winked at you, what should you lose when you make him a small present." she said. "Every other girl gave him a card and some gave him big presents..." you remark. "He said he wait for a card from someone special....so I don't think he expect something large, (Y/N)." Angela spoke with a small laughter. "So just a simple card? But what is when he just wanted to be nice and didn't expect anything now?" you asked the next question and began too feel unsure. "And even when he just wanted to be nice, a card is nothing what should destroy your whole work relationship to him... And when it is not just a lovely gesture you will feel a way better when you did it." she commented. "Ok, ok, ok I do it. By the light why I am feeling so sick because of this." you meant. "Because he is your crush, and now calm down, don't forget to write your name on the card." she tried to calm you. "Good and now excuse me I am on a date." she mentioned and went back but smiled to you. And this time you bought one card and went to a more quite place were you could write it in peace. So Anduin sat on his chair behind his desk and you in the chair in front of it. "Wine?" he asked and hold the metallic jug to pour some in his cup. "Wine?
