demon h and angel y/n finally deem it a love meant to be.
<1k (blurb) Song: Apocalypse.
—————
The crisp air was cold, with rain drops slowly starting to dot the pavement beneath, yet the sheen of innocence collecting at the waterline of (Y/N)’s eyes— threatened to spill over, making their warm presence evident than ever.
“Don’t y’know how much I hate it when you cry?” The voice of a familiar figure rang from behind her. A hitch in her throat she felt, as her body froze on the spot, went numb, almost as if her soul had been shunned. The atmosphere in her mind, had been muggy- like a stagnant lake, sitting there helplessly alone. But one word from him, shook her entire world, having the power to initiate a tsunami in this lake of fantasies she’d created.
“Did y’really think I wouldn’t come back?” he spoke again, a teasing lilt in his voice as a soft sigh left the plushy, supple lips she knew he had. Her lower lip, at the moment, grew tender as she bit on it, trying to suppress the desperate sobs which were bound to come.
And they did.
But… this time, contrary to the feeling a minute ago- her heart soared with an overwhelming feeling of happiness.
Harry didn’t leave.
She’d only recently told him that she loved him. And he replied telling her that he was not who she thought he was. Her lips had trembled when she heard that he wasn’t an angel; instead- the very creature her kind worked against. But what could she do? She loved him. Months they’d spent together, her thinking he was an angel too— just one who didn’t embrace his cherubic gifts as much.
She’d known how she would be treated if others found out she had fallen for someone like him, and she was ready to be someone who others looked down upon if it meant she could be with her love. But it was his silence that made her think he didn’t want to continue this forth. Not because he didn’t love her— the stars know he acted like she hung the moon— but, he wasn’t sure if he could let her go through that.
On her heel, she pivots, the strands of her disheveled hair swaying with effort from the weighted water which was now pouring down upon them. Her gaze rushed to meet his eyes and against her best efforts, the edges of her lips quirked up, tugging them into a grin.
Anger, sadness, relief, love… just so much to feel.
It was as if, the clouds would part, playing along to her fellow angels that would descend from heaven, casting an exquisite glow, tears of nature shining iridescently against the tendrils of Mother Earth, on this isolated part of the road.
But, that didn’t happen of course.
Instead, it began to thunder, lighting the scene with periodic flashes and clasps of terrifying voices of the wind…
All because she’d fallen for the devil.
Still, among the crashing noises one couldn’t ignore, the palpable sensation of his heart beating so fast was all she could comprehend. A smirk slowly rising on his face, droplets highlighting those dimples indenting those soft cheeks— so beautiful.
Not a second is spared before she sprints in his direction, pulling him towards herself and wrapping her arms around his neck, wet tears easily absorbed by his already-drenched, partially buttoned, black shirt. Taken aback, he lets out a breathy chuckle while settling his arms around her waist. His charcoal black wings come around to wrap around her, cocooning them to the moment, also a testament of his true words. Her sentence is muffled against his shoulder, as she speaks out between sniffles, “You are such an idiot.”
All she receives as a response is a delicate kiss planted at the top of her forehead, followed by an even tighter embrace, his arms strong around her. “I know. But I’m your idiot, aren’t I? I don’t mind that,” he says, a smile detected in his response as she revels in the velvety drawl of his voice.
“You’re here,” she whispers in relief almost to herself.
“I’ll always be here, m’angel. Always.”
He would continue to protect her with his entire being, not caring if it was against the norms of the heavens. She would continue to shower him with light, not caring if he was the epitome of darkness.
It was thunder instead of light, because an Angel and the Devil falling in love was wrong. It was just not supposed to happen.
But, being in his tight embrace, the radiation of love and smiles for eternity is a sin worth it, isn’t it?
