Angela... couldn't seem to let go of you. No matter how she tried to rationalise her growing attachment, she could no longer deny that it had long since crossed the boundaries of anything remotely healthy.
Whenever your whereabouts were uncertain, an unnerving restlessness settled deep within her. Every second spent desperately locating you. Even the simple act of letting you fight alongside you designated patron librarian during receptions brought hesitance. Of course, she trusted your abilities. It was others that she had trouble maintaining the same faith in.
You were unlike anyone she'd met before. Someone so willing to stay by her side, regardless of her sins, regardless of the countless lives lost in her pursuit of freedom. With you, she could return to zero. There were no impossible expectations to meet, no-one seeking to exploit her for their own gain. You never ridiculed her for falling somewhere between human and machine either.
With you, everything became quiet, simple even.
Reception after reception, mundane conversations between endless shelves, time spent alongside those she had come to cherish.. one truth had become abundantly clear. Somewhere along her pursuit of humanity—she had found someone willing to care for her in return.
Then why, she wondered, did her chest ache so terribly?
Every passing conversation you shared with another librarian seemed to put her on edge. No longer was she the first person you sought out. Now, you drifted towards Hod's gentle kindness, Gebura's unwavering conviction, Yesod's quiet introspection... people who embodied everything that she wasn't.
They were hopeful, resolute. Far more complete than a mere machine could ever be.
It was only natural that you'd gravitate towards them.
Yet, a part of her couldn't forget that future. That stagnant, unchanging facility where she alone was left. The static of lifeless monitors thrummed in her ears as the world moved on without her.
It was repeating again, right before her eyes. She was past her use.
Still, she despised herself. Despised the cruel, insidious voice within her that whispered she could simply keep you. Through binding you to her, maybe then, you'd never leave..
Of course, that could never work. It'd be foolish to even entertain such an idea.
But still.. her mind couldn't find peace. Perhaps if she were normal, no—if she were truly human—she could love you properly. Maybe then the urge to hide you away, to hold you so tightly that the two of you molded into one, would finally would fade.
Yes, that had to be it. If she continued pursuing the One True Book, if she'd finally attained the humanity she'd sought for so long, then she'd gain the freedom she's always wanted.
The freedom to live as she wished.
To leave the library.
To love you.
And perhaps for the first time.. to be loved in return.

While Angela knows what being sick is and the effects that it can have on humans, never experiencing herself means that she doesn’t exactly know how to take care of someone who is sick no matter how much she loves them and wants to help. Not at first.
She’s hesitant to help you out at first; having been trained to stay away from problems by the system her detestable creator put into place. If she were to help you out now, then wouldn’t that start a cycle of you constantly getting sick and her attempts at helping you only contributing to your suffering?
But unable to see you so sick for a second later, she gives in. She'll stop the moment she's forced to restart the cycle, but has that rule ever applied to agents like you? The resets only ever happened when she intervened with the Sephirah, after all.
However, she's struck with a second problem the moment she reaches your side. How does one take care of a sick person exactly?
She goes through the motions: making sure you rest and are taken care of, giving you medicine and healthy food, the sort. If you get better, then she’ll be relieved and go back to her work without bothering to check in on how you’re doing afterwards. She’ll appear cold, but she doesn’t want to risk messing with the script any further than she already has.
If you don’t get better, then she’ll start to panic. She did everything properly, didn’t she? So why weren’t you getting better?? Her panic will get worse if you don’t show any signs of getting better within the next day as well. She’ll act all cool and distant in front of you and everyone else, but she’ll resort to more risky resorts to help you get better such as using ego gear and gifts, if not abnormalities capable of healing agents.
Nothing will go horribly wrong and you’ll inevitably recover regardless of the exact method Angela uses to help you out, however this moment will be one that she’ll remember for the rest of her life, for better or worse.
Can I pretty please request some yandere (LoR) Angela headcanons? It would be so peak trust 🥹
A/N: I’m a bit rusty on writing Angela since it’s been a while since I last checked lobcorp or ruina but I hope I did her justice

The only reason you’re not trapped in a book is because Angela wants to be better than that man, though if you start misbehaving then she’ll have no choice but to put you inside a book for your own safety.
That safety is also the exact reason why you have to always stay close to one of the librarians — assistant or not — so that they can protect you in case something happens. When the Library is receiving a guest, you have to stay close to Angela.
Part of her is aware that you probably don’t like her just as she’s aware of the fact that if she leaves her feelings for you unchecked, that if she continues down this path then she’ll eventually reach a point of no return.
But she can’t bear to let you go either, not when you look past her existence as a machine and see her as a person. Despite all the things she has done, you still view Angela as a human, so could anyone blame her for wanting to keep you by her side at all costs?
She won’t force herself on you if you dislike her nor will she force you into doing something you won’t like. All she wants is for you to stay by her side, forever. She’s not asking for much, especially since whatever your heart desires, the Library or Angela herself can give it to you.

Angela is… conflicted, to say the least.
On one hand, she knows how awful it is to be trapped somewhere with no hope of ever escaping. How it feels to keep losing what few things or people you have over and over again.
Angela wants you to have more than that. She doesn’t want you to go through what she had to go through, so she wants you to have the whole Library in your palms, but only the Library so that she can keep you safe. It’s not like you need to leave when you could have whatever you wanted here.
On the other hand, every second that you spend walking around so freely leaves her more paranoid than the last.
Angela doesn’t want to be controlling, no. The last thing she wants is to resemble that man so she wants to give you everything that she never had the chance to. However she’s not sure how much longer she can let you have your freedom within the Library when danger lurks at every corner.
Who’s to say that a guest won’t go rouge during fight or after winning one? They won’t get far of course, Angela would never let them, but you could get hurt and the last thing she wanted was to risk your safety and for what? Her goals? While becoming human meant everything for her, if it came at the cost of you getting hurt then it wasn’t worth it.
However, if you continued not to listen to her and refuse to stay close to her when the librarians are busy dealing with guests who could harm you, then Angela would have no other choice but to place you inside a book where you’d be completely safe.
