Broken Lights
Explosion after explosion echoed from an obscure training room. Inside, the Lady of Luminosity cast spell after spell, using her passive again and again to set training dummies and minions alight.
She'd been seen in Noxus.
In Noxus!
Perhaps it was conjecture - after all, the guard had only caught a glimpse, so she was sure someone would smooth it over...after all, balance the word of Luxanna Crownguard against the word of a guard and she would probably come out on top. Still, she'd been verbally punished, and harshly too. Following someone into Noxus - for what?
She had not told her superiors the answer to that. She'd rather not. She realised she didn't think they'd care. All they wanted - all they had ever wanted - was a weapon, honed sharp and bright as steel.
It seemed Lux was getting rusty.
"I am NOT rusty!" she yelled finally. Her Lucent Singularity exploded, sending minions flying and the training master scurried from the room.
With a scream of rage Lux blasted the last minion with her Final Spark. She was still as honed and powerful as ever, and she was not a tool of Demacia, to be picked up and used to anyone's liking. What she'd said back to her superiors would probably put her down for a very harsh review...one that would require 'rehabilitation' but Lux had no intention of following through with that.
She could bend light around her body. Let them try to find her...they would not be able to.
Lux, shaking, walked out of the room, past the shaking training master who stood just outside the doorway. She didn't see him.
Her vision was clouded with rage and pain and...and...
She hated Demacia. She hated them all: The military, for insisting that she be theirs; her parents for freely giving her away; Garen, for not being there; hell, she hated the king for no other reason than he led the place that had taken her freedom away!
But...What if they were right? What if she hadn't chased Varus, made him stop attacking Noxus? It was no skin off her back if he went on a rampage through Noxus...Demacia would've even thanked him.
No! Varus was her friend...
"I do not know what you were thinking, Luxanna, but it will not happen again. you must be reminded that Demacians are not to be seen in Noxus. Whether you were or not is immaterial. There is nobody or nothing important enough to go to Noxus for."
She had to cut ties with everyone...everything...Maybe she was as weak as they said.
And in that moment, Lux slid down the wall to sit on the ground, hard, and began to cry softly.
She hated them all...but most of all, she hated herself.
