Decided to try drawing Creepy Susie and her family! They never got to appear in the show, but we got to see some concept art in the DVD extras! We also got Lawrence and Jeff's names with the concept art, which is handy.
The Creepletons currently consist of iron-fist patriarch Ichabod, his third wife Sable, Lawrence and Susie. As well as their pet.... ugh,... um... PET Jeff. Ichabod runs the city crematorium out of his property, and is hardset on keeping the family traditions. Including training his eldest son to take over the business one day, which Lawrence very much dose NOT want to do.
Lawrence wants to be a doctor, but he is forced to work in the crematorium instead. He hates his father for a verity of reasons, like how his father is a controlling, chauvinistic, parsimonious, cold hearted piece of shit. Ichabod was also very callous to Lawrence's mother when she was alive and his inactivity contributed greatly to her death. Add on that, just a few years later, he remarried a woman only fourteen years older than Lawrence himself, and yeah, its an understandable hatred. (Sable was 22 when they married.) Lawrence constantly has his hands in his pockets, unless he needs them.
Sable was born and raised in France. She was arranged to marry Ichabod in her early twenties and she only went along with it to please her family. Living in the valley area of Hillvalley, as someone not born there, has had a negative effect on her health. While she hasn't lost her hair, she dose have problems conceiving. Thus Susie is the only child between them and she's perfectly happy with that. (Ichabod doesn't care.) Sable raised Susie in near isolation in the house the first few years, due to her husband's controlling nature. Thus Susie learned french as her first language. She later learned English when Ichabod found out and threw a fit over it. (He found out when she was three) Lately, thanks to getting out of the house more as Susie grew up, she has formed friendships with other members of the valley, including Pickles, Milo's mother. Sable's always disliked her husband and has recently discovered she actually likes woman. However Ichabod had her sign a prenup before they married, so if she divorces, she'd get literally nothing and likely loose custody of Susie, so there not much to be done currently.
Susie has a general understanding that her home life is a mess, but doesn't fully understand how bad it is. Her father is always working and when he's home, he doesn't pay her much attention. Or when she has his attention ,its usually because she did something wrong. Her mom is very attentive and loving, but turns into a shadow when her dad is home. Lawrence is always nice and tries to look out for her, but their father's presence fills him with rage. Home can be uncomfortable and confusing... she'd rather be out with her friends. Or watching her favourite movie, Weekend at Bernie's. Susie loves learning about death and fire, meaning she would be Ichabod's perfect heir, too bad he'd never consider her.
Jeff... Nobody is sure what Jeff actually is. Speculation has ranged from a demon to a hamster in a black painted ball, with some wind chimes. Lawrence found Jeff in the Valley wastes a few months after his mum died. Jeff was a great comfort for him while he was alone with Ichabod before Sable came. They still have no idea what he is, even after fifteen years, but he hunts down the bugs around the house and after what happened to that burglar... its best to just let Jeff do as he pleases...
Art I started in 2023 and finished in 2024. Blame me getting into MOTHER/EarthBound and Oblongs/Creepy Susie that summer. (also VCS which I enjoyed a lot)
MOTHER 1 felt just odd enough for this crossover to work, y'know?
