Anim Jam Update: Final Day

we were at the school campus until 5:30 am, but we finished the film!!!

finished it early, even!! Final submission is at 1pm, but we were able to push through all our edits and get it in, and then pass the fuck out oml. We're having a showcase later today, and i will upload the final film here (it looks really cute, but it feels a bit like a mild fever dream lmaoooo) i'm so happy with the final result!!!

Main character model is basically done, I could definitely adjust the hands and boots more but i've been at this for several hours and haven't slept yet, so i will call it here and take a power nap!! Already did storyboarding, so I'm gonna let the other girlies handle environment concept sketching and modeling, another is going to be rigging, and hopefully once my nap is done we'll be ready to start animating!! If not, I can move onto textures in the meantime

Anim Jam Update: night one

Rough start, took us 4 hours to go back and forth with ideas and vote on the final pitch, but we’re currently working on storyboards and concept art is slowly starting!! You get all people who wanna do 3D and end up with no one wanting to draw LMAO so I have yet AGAIN be tasked with boarding 💀 my least favorite part of the pipeline but fuck it, I’ve done it before and I can make it coherent albeit a lil ugly lmaoooo

Got 2 others power struggling with Act 1 and Act 3, but hoping to be done within a couple hours! Gonna be a late night for me since I have to get the character modeled ASAP so she can get rigged by early morning at the latest. Worst part about 3D is we can’t start animation until we have finished assets, but we’re gonna push through!! Let’s goooo, hopefully my tired old lady body can stay up late 😴

Animation Jam Theme: Space

48 hours to create an animated film, and the theme has been revealed!! It's Space!! So we're currently pitching ideas for the setting and story, playing with the idea of Space. We want it to have a galaxy setting with a cute astro girl, thinking about the idea of "space" as "distance" as well. We'll be nailing down the story and starting the storyboard within the next hour or 2!!

i am quickly realizing that i think at least one of the girls in our team has never done an anim jam before

we have to have a concrete story, full storyboard, full concept art, full character model, have that model rigged, and have the environment modeling started BY END OF TODAY so we can start animating tomorrow. I cannot emphasize enough how just the story pitch alone needs to be ASAP 😭
