🐢We were walking back from the forest when we noticed a turtle in a deep pit — apparently left open after some plumbing work. She was clearly trying to get out, but the slope was too steep. We spent quite a while figuring out if it was even possible to climb down to her and then back up again, since the pit was about three meters deep and there was nothing to hold on to.
In the end, my love decided to give it a try — and luckily, he managed to rescue her. He did get a bit muddy, though, but with a smile and a sense of accomplishment 😊 By the way, it was the first time he’d ever held a wild turtle. Usually I’m the one reaching out to every living creature, haha😂
I hope this wonderful "find" is all right. We took it off the road and watched it disappear into the trees🤍🍂
Found some bird friends and some moody plants!
If you ever are in Washington near Mt Saint Helens. Go check out Trail of Two Forests! It’s right near the Ape Caves. Short little walkway around ! Easy and fun!
