Lowk wanna draw your version of shirtless Vox over some official shirtless Vox pics but my ace instincs are so preventing me lmao
Repulsion can make so many things harder than they have to be 😩
Just in case tho, here is my character sheet for him ;) (I drew it a while ago, so since then I've tweaked some stuff w/ the style and been changing like, vents placement etc)
I would love to see or hear your thoughts on Proto Vox!
Adorable little roach man. Connecticut Clark among Voxes. Canon Valentino should be his Malfina.
Seeing his with the old, old design of Alastor is cute too. But they just have this Jessica Rabbit, Roger Rabbit thing going on that cannot be denied.
Thanks for the ask!
I've been upset lately. Does any of you maybe have a prompt they'd like me to make a quick sketch of, so that I could do something nice for someone and feel a little better?
I feel like even if Vox and Al had become partners and eventually a couple they would rarely or never fuck. It would be like, a special occasion thing and it would never be about the actual sex and more just about enjoying each other and making each other feel good. Like Alastor doesn't hate it but he doesn't really think it's worth the fuss 99% of the time and Vox is always hung up on pleasing Alastor so unless Al initiates it they just cuddle and are sickeningly sweet and disturbingly murderous together. Maybe that's a weird take but I just don't see Vox as a guy who sees sex as a need, I think he'd be happy with Al as long as it was emotionally reciprocal and that he wouldn't need sex to feel emotionally intimate with him.
(Also the "angels don't have a sex unless they really really try" line from Good Omens has stuck with me for years and made me think a lot about acespec relationships and how they can be queer, dear, and last for millennia without ever needing to be "consummated")
After the 2nd season, I can easily see Alastor as sex-neutral ace, who doesn't mind using sex as means to an end. But personally, I like headcannoning him as either fully or mostly sex-repulsed, while enjoying certain aspects of sex and some kinks, such as control, power and, yes! Once he's a little less "not okay"! intimacy and closeness. I don't really like thinking of Alastor as enjoying typical kinds of sex, having much of a libido or in general being too sex-favorable. I also agree with the "too much fuss" take! As for Vox, I've always seen him as very sexual person. He's in a long-term situationship with Valentino who's all about sex, he makes very sexual jokes and his feelings toward Alastor also have a very strong undertone of it as well (Vox's psycho-sexual obsession with Alastor is a tag for a reason). I hc that he probably has pretty high libido and that sex is pretty important to him, emotionally, because it's one of the few spaces it's acceptable for a man to be vulnerable. And Vox is so messed up when it comes to masculinity and vulnerability! Which is all to say, that I actually think it would take them some adjusting, talking and good faith seeking to figure out their dynamic. I 100% think that they could be fully sex-free and happy. I agree with what you said about Vox being focused on making Al happy and being fine with other forms of emotional intimacy - when Vox is mentally in a good place, he can be a caring and sweet partner, plus he's always so eager to please! I also think that specifically bc there has been so much sex in Vox's life (w/ Val, his business...) he would end up really easily wrapping his head around the idea of sex and intimacy not having to coexist. I can easily imagine him being like "It's just another thing you can do with your body, it's nothing special" if Al was stressing out about not being able to, eugh, meet Vox's needs 🙄 "It's fine, I have hands". But I don't think it would be sth they'd just naturally slot into without problems, you know? But that makes it a little bit sweeter, too. Bacause they're making an effort, learning each other and working together to be happy.
If Alastor's love language is food, then what is Vox's?
Thank you for the ask, I'm always happy to get one! And sorry for the typos.
Now, unlike with Alastor, we actually see how Vox shows he cares, to those he holds dear. My first instinct was to say that his love language is gifts, which, well, is a pretty popular hc that makes a lot of sense. Vox is a 50's man after all, with the most fragile ego and uneasy relationship to his masculinity you've seen on this side of the pride ring.
But, looking directly at the source material, I think the main way Vox expresses love is that he wants you THERE with him. He wants to keep the people he loves close to himself, he wants to include them in whatever he has going on at the moment. It doesn't mean he wants to be with them at all times, bit he wants to have the certainity that he COULD, if he do wished. Vox's idea of having business partners is having them be his roommates that he can hang around with, having tea parties and movie nights, cheering on his not-ex nearly dying. When he wants to be closer to Alastor, he wants to include him in his bussiness ventures and when he has him imprisoned, in a twisted version of it, he still drags him around.
A part of this is Vox's need for attention, and the other part is his paranoid, controlling nature. But I also think that it's possibile, in a very charitable and hopeful read, that he is like this, because this is how HE would have like to be treated. As far as we know, Vox doesn't have and never had other connections outside of the Vees and, once, Alastor. Given how his apparently biggest trauma is being rejected by Alastor, it's fair to assume that Vox would wish to be welcomed at all times.
Why are people so obsessed with dicks. Like, as asexual why in general, sure, i don't want to see this, but also just why with dicks. Just saw another post of someone creating a giant schlong somewhere and, seriously, why is it always a dick. I really don't see genitals as the peak of comedic genius other people seem to, but for the love of god, if you must draw and sculpt them everywhere, at least throw in a vagina for the variety.
I... Hm. I really dislike... How a lot of the attention re: weird route is focused on how "creepy" Noelle acts. I've recently seen a theory youtuber call her essentially attempting double suicide with Kris going "evil mode". And I think... While it might not look that serious at the first glance, I think it's really vile to see a traumatized teenage girl, in large part traumatized by the player themself, not Kris, not any secret entity, but the player and see her having a mental breakdown as her being evil.
