[fiercely pretends Uncassandra has an anime]
quick doodle of my uncassandra children i did while waiting on a response about a commission (/^▽^)/
made for my blog theme but I like to pretend that this is a real anime
this is my idiot otp yes
Ok I'm really in a UnCassandra mood again right now and I just need to talk about it so here goes
This manga as it is is fine. It could have more but what it does have makes it complete and I'm content with it. There are no giant plotholes or major things that were never resolved. However, there are definitely things that could have been expanded on and I'm going to talk about that now because in my head I keep screaming "[Buzz Lightyear voice] so many opportunities WASTED."
Where did the notebook/tape recorder/Chiasa and Bekku's powers come from?
This was never explained and I think that out of all the things that they could have gone more into, I'd have liked it to have been this. And surely, there had to of been more objects and people with powers to predict the future as well. If Makita hadn't burned the notebook (and there were still more predictions to break), they could have introduced new characters with them.
Anyway, back on topic...were these objects just born from the Mask? They probably weren't meant to be used to break the predictions since clearly that just makes the Mask angry but perhaps the Mask needed them because its predictions had to come from somewhere. It could be the same with people's powers, which I'll point out more clearly in a moment but Banjou did notice that when she used her power, Bekku's eyes changed somehow. Perhaps the eyes themselves are like the other objects. Chiasa gets headaches; maybe her brain is the object??
Another thing I'm curious about is why you can't make copies of the objects.
Also do the objects end on where the person dies? Banjou's notebook ended there, did Makita's tape? I'm thinking not (because of a point I mention later) but if so, what does this mean for Bekku and Chiasa's powers? Does the same not apply because they are abilities rather than physical items and are thus have no limitations?
Bekku's eyes
Bekku has been able to see things when she looks in the mirror since she was a child (or younger?). As just stated, when she uses the power, her eyes change. It was only mentioned briefly but it was dropped after that. I guess this goes hand in hand with where the abilities/objects come from. I guess I'm just really curious as to how they changed though, since it was enough for Banjou to point out.
When did Banjou find the notebook?
Was it just in high school? Or before that? Chapter 6 said it had been 10 YEARS but that's the only time it's mentioned. And what made him decide to break them/get the idea in his head that if he broke them all, he could prevent his own death as well?
Where did Banjou's quack of a doctor come into play?
It says he's been taking care of him all this time. Is is because the guy doesn't charge a lot? This is just a minor thing anyway but I'm still curious.
Parents???
I'm actually 100% fine without them being a part of the story but I'm just really curious like does Banjou's parents not exist? I imagine they'd be pretty horrified if they knew he was constantly getting hurt. Bekku's parents are most likely in her hometown though I'm a bit curious as to why they'd let her go to Tokyo on her own.
I'd also like to know more about Chiasa's parents.
The details of his DEATH??? HOW ABOUT IF HE EVEN DIED IN THE END A CONFIRMATION OF THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE YEAH
I seriously would just have loved one line of "now that the Mask is destroyed, all its predictions won't come to pass." I mean, is it that much to ask for? I know it was said in chapter 6 that if they sealed it, the predictions would stop but that was only their speculation. There is still a chance that even if the predictions' source has been taken out, the ones already predicted could still come to pass.
Banjou and Bekku's relationship
MY FAVORITE TOPIC. I actually like that the romance was more subdued but also not totally nonexistent. However I would have really liked for some kind of confirmation on how their relationship ended up. It was pretty obvious that there was some feelings between the two (and I'll talk about that in another post) but man this ship is sailing in undefined canon status hell waters and I really wish it wasn't.
I'm sure there is more things that could have been talked about but I think I covered most of the things I would really like to see.
