PATOUF
Swedish clothing label Patouf, created by Anna Angseryd, showcase their AW13 collection which was inspired by Jackson Pollock’s non-conventional paintings. For those of you who don't know Pollock was a leading figure in the abstract expressionist movement.
The prints are garish and loud but fit effortlessly with the 60s and 70s-esque silhouettes. And in this second season Anna has included menswear, creating more unisex pieces and painting a picture of an androgynous passer by.
The texture and the multiple layers of the collection come from Pollock’s inspiration, with the ink stained prints directly emulating Pollock’s work.
Patouf as a brand states that it moves in the borderland between escapism and reality, cynicism and romance. And we couldn’t agree more. ELSPETH MERRY
