Whats ur opinion on anna? /anna and artyom end game? Ik theyre the canon couple but fans are reallt divided on her

ohh yeass thank you for asking me about her because i do happen to have a lot of thoughts !! :> beforehand i just wanna say a few things: - I haven't read the books yet so my thoughts are purely based on the games versions of Anna. - sorry for it being so long!! i didn't expect to type all that but I do happen to have A Lot of Thoughts sadly

on Anna overall: She's a character that I absolutely love. I think that her position within the rangers is interesting, she's practically the first women with such a position that you encounter in the series and as such I feel like she has a lot of potential. I feel that she is very defensive in the beginning, but it's easily explained by the amount of misogyny she probs has to face in a male-dominated field. However! I feel that her character tends to get kind of overshadowed; there was plenty of room to be diving deep into her reasonings and her character, but it sadly felt very rushed. I also didn't like the fact that she was the first woman we had met and like 3 minutes into meeting her, I could pre shot the fact she and Artyom would end up together.

That's however an issue that I've found myself noticing through the games and that isn't only bound to Anna but that ties more broadly to the way women get treated.. Maybe I'll share my thoughts about it some other day :'D i feel like i'm The Woke(tm) lmao So all in all, in LL I love the character but feel generally dissatisfied with the way they wrote her. shes my oc now (jk)

As for Exodus, the writing got much better; I think the way they handled Artyom's notebook helped a lot. Through his notes, it was as if I could feel Artyom's tenderness for Anna and I found myself sharing this quiet fondness during the moments between the two. I also found myself feeling very powerless as she got progressively weaker through Exodus because ever since the Volga we just saw her getting worse and worse while denying it and my heart sank, which indubitably helped me loving her more. By Novossibirsk, I genuinely thought we were going to loose her.

And on Anna and Artyom : I think it's obvious how cute they are together. They carry a lot of respect and love for each other. If in LL it mostly felt like Artyom was always saving her, in Exodus they made them complement each other much more (that moment where she shots the Baron in the Caspian sea level for example). I think it works better than the "damsel in distress" trope.

again it still ties to the way women get treated through the series but I was very doubtful for example when I learned that after marrying Artyom, Anna moved from Polis to VDNkh to work in a mushroom farm or something; but that's less an issue from her in itself and has more to do with the world-building ig, so I don't think it has to enter into the equation when I consider her character.

SO TLDR; I love her character and feels she has a lot of potential that was sadly left sort of unexplored through the series! Artyom and Anna are very cute, but I also can't help but wonder if the only fate for a woman in the metro is to get married. I don't know if I'd rather see a more platonic version of their relationship, I think I actually don't mind either? anyways thank you for reading me thus far! apologies if i worded anything weirdly or anything, please feel free to ask me if i need to explain something better!

I had a very intense emotional moment last night.. With gaming.

Anyway I was playing metro exodus and there's a moment where Anna lays her head on Artyom's lap and she holds his hand and strokes it.

And like... Not to sound sad 😔 but my ex just did not even hold hands with me 😟😑

Anyway it just... Moved me to tears! I was so big and smiling and kind of sniffly too 😂😂

Anyway I'm all healed up now, but games really make moments like these so memorable.

I love Anna Miller so much too, she's so cool!
